Has anyone been for a scan very recently?

I'm due to go for my 20 week scan, due to the coronavirus outbreak I dont think our partners are allowed to attend the scan at my local hospital (understandably) but I was just wondering if anyone has been allowed to take a small video just to share with our partners afterward as they missed out?

I have to have a rescan today.
I am going alone. I don't expect to be able to take pics or a video, but I suppose it might vary Trust by Trust.
Hope it goes well for you.

@LiverBird77 thank you, I hope all goes well for you today also. I just thought they might make an exception but I totally understand if they dont. I just feel so bad for DP as hes been so looking forward to it, he did say ..as long as you can still go and we know baby is safe then that's all that matters.

It's a horrible time, isn't it? I mean I know there are bigger problems but all these little things really mean a lot. What a time to be pregnant!

Our hospital is allowing mums a couple of minutes at the end of the scan to film, which they don’t normally do.

Our hospital is not allowing videos at all. But they’re giving free printout images.
I really feel for the mums and dads. Desperate times

I had a scan yesterday, our hospital is allowing one partner but my husband had to stay home with our DS and children are strictly not allowed so I went alone. They might let you FaceTime during the appointment and give you a print out of the image, every hospital will have their own policy.

I had my first scan on Monday (2 days ago) and was allowed to bring my partner, the hospital had lots of measures in place such as plenty of prompting to wash hands as you moved into different areas and also the seating had been adjusted in the waiting areas as in every other seat was removed leaving more distances between everyone. Good luck at your scan Smile

I’ve got a scan today and dreading it. I’ve been told DH can call in to the appointment.

I had my dating scan yesterday, I could take one person but DH had to watch DD, so I went on my own, there were several women in the same position.
It wasn't ideal and I was a little upset about not having him there for support but I completely understand the reasoning,
I didn't video anything, all the letters say they don't allow it. I didn't ask, maybe I should have, but they did give me loads of pictures to take home

Good luck at your scan x

My hospital is allowing one person to come with you. But no children are allowed.

I’ve got my 20 week scan next Monday and my local hospital have said partners won’t be allowed.

Does anyone know if the sonographer would be able to write down the gender (if they’re able to see it of course) so my husband and I can find out together?

blackpinkinyourarea · 25/03/2020 12:25

I had my scan today, partners arent allowed into the antenatal clinic at all:( I was given lots of pictures though for free. Not allowed to video call or film anything but i fully expected that, still asked if i could anyway.
At my hospital its strictly no visitors, they only want you in the premises if you HAVE to be, so a patient with an urgent health matter or if you're a member of staff. I think this is the trend now for most hospitals?

Thank you so much for all the replies, it looks like everywhere is different so I guess we will just need to wait and see. Good luck and stay safe everyone xx

Had growth scan today. Only I was allowed in and no phones allowed. Wasn’t allowed pictures either. All staff with masks, gloves and aprons. Staff were lovely though and finding the situation just as strange as I was.
