Early pregnancy cramping

Hello ladies I'm new to mums net and looking for advice.
Tested on Sunday and had three positives. First pregnancy. I'm around 4 weeks. Since Thursday night last week I have been having extremely painful cramps that last around half an hour, making me feel faint and nauseous, crippled in pain that it makes me cry. Sometimes I can't get off the toilet there that bad. Once the cramps are over, and paracetamol and hot water bottle in action I then start to feel better: Sorry to be descriptive but I find my cramps are usually at there worst when I need a bowel movement and then will ease 30 mins later.
Has anyone experienced this before?
I contacted my GP yesterday who has referred to to the early pregnancy unit on the 7th April which will make me around 6 weeks. He said on the phone to me I may be miscarrying or possibly an ectopic. I've had no bleeding.
I've had a bad day today with them coming on/ off and am off work now for 12 weeks due to covid 19 so having a really down day today. Just seeking advice. Thank you xSad

Seen sooner xx
Ectopic pregnancy can be dangerous.

Hi, your post sounds very similar to what I’m currently experiencing. If you don’t mind me asking, how did you get on? Any advice?

Pinkhan135 · 21/02/2021 12:57

Hello.
Well I now have a 17 week old baby girl!

I put the cramps down to implantation pains. I had a scan at 7 weeks and all was well. The cramps eased around 8 weeks. They suddenly went.

But yes now have a beautiful healthy baby girl. Actually it's so weird looking back at this post now!
Are you having similar pains then? Gosh they were awful, I remember them so well, I was adamant I was having an ectopic.

They only things I can recommend that worked well for me were.... paracetamol, rest and hot water bottles, but not too hot as I burnt my belly and got told of by the midwife at my 6 week appointment, have you contacted your doctors to get booked in for an early scan?

@Pinkhan135

That’s great news. Congratulations!

I seem to be having IBS like symptoms, although I’ve never suffered with IBS. I can be on the toilet for a while, in agony!

I rang the GP last week, but didn’t get anywhere really, they just advised me to monitor it. The pain, cramping sensation etc has worsened, so I’ll give them another ring in the morning.

I’m just a paranoid mess at the moment! My previous pregnancy ended in a miscarriage so I’m full of worry that this will end the same.

I’ve tried prune juice (in case it’s constipation) but that makes me really gassy, which then adds to the pain. It’s hard to know what to do for the best!

Thanks for your feedback x

Pinkhan135 · 21/02/2021 14:47

I would ring your doctors again and asked to be booked in for an early reassurance scan to put your mind at ease.
All my symptoms were the same as you've described, IBS symptoms.

@Pinkhan135

That’s reassuring to hear - thanks.

I’ll give the GP a ring in the morning.

mabelelsie · 21/02/2021 15:39

This is lovely to hear, congratulations on your birth. I’m 5+2 and since I found out I’ve been having on and off cramps (like period cramps), no other real symptoms, which has also been a worry! And now my discharge has turned slightly hello, is there ever nothing to worry about 🤣

Pinkhan135 · 21/02/2021 16:21

I had the same symptoms. Was awful. I just kept worrying somethings was wrong but it wasn't! Just the normal implantation pains I was told x

It’s horrible, you convince yourself that your period is coming! It’s good to hear that other woman get it and that it’s normal, thank you for the reassurance. The cramps and bloating were bad tonight, the trouser button is undone tonight!
How’s your new bubba?

Pinkhan135 · 22/02/2021 08:05

Oh gosh my bottoms were always undone too! I feel your pain!
Yes lovely! She's changing every day! We have our troubles with colic and reflux and she has a possible tongue tie but all in all she's doing well. I ended up having an emergency c section at 35 weeks! She decided she wanted to come early!
