Is it me imagining things, or couldnt you used to buy ultrasound machines? i dont mean the big high tech things like at the hospital, but smaller, cheap versions, for about 200 pounds.

have never heard of this, the safety of ultrasound machines is questioned by a lot of people too so am not sure they have ever been available for untrained people. You can get doppler things though to listen to your baby.

Why would you want to buy an ultrasound machine?

lemonaid · 10/09/2007 17:49

Do you mean a doppler? (i.e. sound only). Yes, you can buy or hire them.

lulumama · 10/09/2007 17:50

yes you can buy or hire a doppler, but they can be a mixed blessing.. it is hard sometimes for a trained midwife to find a heartbeat before 16 weeks, so you could drive yourself mad doing it yourself

GET A GRIP

you are obsessing unecessarily

you need to stop it

you will not do yourself any good with this

Twiglett · 10/09/2007 17:52

do what I said on other thread, ask for an EPU scan .. then relax

honestly this heightened anxiety does neither you nor foetus any good

mumzyof2 · 10/09/2007 20:32

I know, you're right, I was just wondering really. Im sure id seen them. Anyway, will stop being so damn silly, Im sure my baby's just fine.
Thank you for the slaps.

if you are very early on, a doppler is no good

if you have bleeding , pain or other reason to think you are miscarrying or having an ectopic, then go to the EPU and let the professionals help you x
