I’m 8 weeks with first baby and had been feeling relatively decent until the weekend. Last night I felt so sick in bed and had to get up to be sick twice overnight. I feel so tired to the point I can barely get out of bed. Anything I’ve eaten today has been brought back up. I feel so awful. I rang the doctor who gave me cyclizine which I took but it doesn’t seem to have made much difference. Does it take more time to work? I feel so awful I can’t get any relief at all

Just to say I've been there. The tiredness eases in the second trimester. The sickness often does too- I had terrible afternoon sickness so would eat my biggest meal in the morning. I didn't take anything for the sickness so not sure how effective the drug is but it does get easier. Good luck!

I was prescribed cyclizine in the early days and it did absolutely nothing for me. I went back to my GP and they prescribed Stemetil but after reading the risks, I decided not to take them and just ride it out. It lasted until I was about 17 weeks but did start to ease off around week 14.

A lot of people have used stemetil and found them to be really effective, you just need to decide if you're comfortable taking them.
