Hey lovelies
Has anyone else used cyclogest and they have masked a miscarriage ?
I tested positive a couple of weeks ago ... and due for a scan next week , but when I did another test 2 days ago to check my lines were getting darker they looked fainter then ever , almost a negative , so I used a clear blue digital that said ‘not pregnant’ I’m assuming this means my pregnancy has ended but I have had no bleeding yet .

Is this common when using the cyclogest ?

Confused xxxx

I don’t think Cyclogest usually masks potential bleeding. Women taking it who don’t get a bfp usually still get their period anyway.

One thing you should know though is that it’s counterproductive to home test after week 5.

You can get the “hook effect” which leads you to think you’re no longer pregnant. What it really means is that your HCG is so high none of the molecules managed to get onto the test line because they jostled each other out of the way!

Google the hook effect and don’t home test again 😘

If you have no pain and no bleeding then right now you have no reason to think you have miscarried or will 🙏🍀🤞

Just for reference here’s my last few tests.

At 15dp5dt (equivalent to 4+6) you can see my HCG had gotten high enough to produce a “line stealer”. That’s a test where there isn’t enough dye left for the control line so it looks faded!

At 17dp5dt (equivalent to 5+1) you can see the “hook effect” beginning. The control line gets darker again and the test line is not quite as solid as the previous test.

X hope this helps you relax ❤️

I was on pessaries for about 6 months due to low progesterone. I took them from ovulation until af. Af always arrived without me having to stop them. I would have thought it would be the same with mc. Try to stop testing, I’ve seen so many posts where it causes unnecessary worries. I hope your scan goes well.
