Hi everyone,

I’m unsure if I am just overthinking or panicking for no reason but I am 16 weeks pregnant on Tuesday and I still have no bump. Everyone comments as to how small I am for being 4 months pregnant and it’s beginning to bother me. My tummy has gotten a little bigger than I was before pregnancy but nothing massively, in clothes you can’t tell I’m pregnant at all.

I just feel for 4 months pregnant I should at least be looking a little pregnant? Has anyone else experienced this and eventually popped? also since I haven’t seen the baby since my first scan at 12 weeks I’m just worried something is wrong.

Thanks ladies, this is my first pregnancy so I am the worlds worst at worrying x

It's normal in your first pregnancy not to show for ages! You must have good stomach muscles. Its also normal to be worried. Do you not have a 16wk midwife appointment? They will listen for the heartbeat if I remember rightly x

I wasn’t showing at 16 weeks when I had my first. My belly just looked a little plumper. I was gone 20 weeks before a bump popped. I’m currently 14 wks with my second and no hint of a bump yet even though I was expecting it to appear more quickly this time.

I didnt show til 28 weeks. I was a whale 10 weeks later!

Pentium85 · 21/03/2020 19:02

I didn't show until 8 months pregnant.
Never even wore maternity clothes.
Relax and enjoy it x

Very normal especially in a first pregnancy.

HarrietThePi · 21/03/2020 19:05

I didn't show until 8 months either. Through most of the pregnancy I looked like I'd put on a bit of weight, but I didn't look pregnant.

I'm 22 weeks and no bump here other than first thing in the morning when I need a pee. Baby is growing fine though and I can feel him kicking all day so not worried. Just sick of people saying 'is there even a baby in there?!' Envy

@littlemac2 I'm 17 weeks and I just look bloated. If you look at me side on then you might just tell. People keep looking to check if a bump has suddenly appeared. Grin

It's my first also.

SomeoneElseEntirelyNow · 21/03/2020 19:08

As with everyone else - first time mum and i didn't have a noticeable bump until about 30 weeks. Before that i just looked chubby. Even at 40+4 i could still fit in my old stretchy trackies, i wore them to the hospital to give birth

Thank you so much everyone who has replied! how relieved I am to read all of your bump experiences, everyone’s bodies are so different so it makes sense that we all show differently and at different times. I just hope I pop soon, although I bet when I get to that stage I’ll be wishing I was small again Blush again thank you everyone! I love reading your stories Smile x

I never popped and carried on wearing my normal clothes until I gave birth to a 9lb baby. The midwife was a little shocked! All bodies are different. Just think of all the (mostly awful) maternity clothes you don't have to buy!

In my first pregnancy at 20 weeks I was barely showing a bit after eating a pizza at dinner. I did get quite big at the end thou. The following pregnancies I showed a lot earlier.

So I would say it's absolutely normal, try not to panic and wait for little bump to grow.

OhNoNoNoNotThatOne · 22/03/2020 00:03

Please dont worry, like all above I wasn't showing at 16 weeks, in fact I just looked a bit bloated at my 20 week scan.
I didn't show until 28 weeks and then sort of exploded over night at 32 weeks. It's completely normal for your first.
