Unpaid leave and statutory maternity pay

Due to Corona virus, my company is making me take 2 weeks of unpaid leave in both April and May, although they are spreading the pay cut over April, May and June (I’m in the travel industry). It’s not ideal, but given what’s going on I can understand it and can make it work and at least I’m keeping my job. My worry is that the company I work for only provides statutory maternity pay and this period falls within the SMP reference period. So does that mean I’m going to be penalised twice? Or have I missed some legislation that says otherwise

It may affect the 90% part for the first 6 weeks of SMP as that is based on the earnings in week 17-25 of pregnancy. The rest of SMP would be the unaffected as long as you still meet the earnings rule

I also have a similar concern as I may also be below the weekly minimum earning for weeks 17-25 due to forced unpaid leave , for what

Sorry posted too soon- from what I have read we can still get maternity allowance that’s same stat weekly rate just not the 90% for 6 weeks as above posted said. It’s unfortunate but anything better than nothing given the current circumstances x

I guess. It just feels like we’re having a pay reduction twice, whereas others in the company will only get it once (assuming things improve....but maybe that’s a big assumption!)
