12 week scan tests and telling people.

Hi, please can anyone tell me how soon you get the test results back from the 12 week scan? Is it done on the day?

Just thinking about when we can start to tell people but I’d rather the test results were completed first just incase we had bad news.

We had our 12 week scan on the 10th and got our results via letter on 19th.

We were planning on waiting until Mother's Day to tell family/ friends but with everything going on we told them on the 19/20th xx

We waited about 4 days for the test results to come back but the labs will probably be busier now, so I would allow at least a week or so. If you haven't had anything in, say, 10 days, then I'd ring the hospital to chase.

After I had mine done my hospital said if there was any issues they would contact you in a couple of days if everything was fine then they just send you a letter through the post in around 10 days.

I had mine done on 9th March and had my results on 12th March, low risk.

We had our scan on the 11th and still havent had our results back. We told our family around the weekend of the 15th, mainly because it was DH's birthday and it was lovely to be able to tell everyone together x

We got the results the same day, just waited for an hour or so and they were given to us.

@Ruby8719 i had my results just 2 days after.

They told me it would be a week though

I had a 12 week scan and the combined test. Was told if high risk I'd get a call within 3 days. If low risk I'd get a lettet within a week.
I had a low risk (1 in 780) but I wanted to wait until the 20 week scan in case the found markers for Down's or anything else.
All was well at 20 week scan so I felt reassured and told family.

My hospital get you to go off for a coffee then come back in about an hour and get results there and then. If combined risk is greater than 500:1 you are offered the Harmony test which then does take about a week but results were sent by email so got them as soon as was possible.
