My milk has come in early

I'm 36+6 today & I've got my elective section in 2 days. It's my second baby and I'm hoping to breastfeed again but my milk has already come in.
My boobs are trick hats and leaking milk. What the hell do I do? Isn't it a bit weird to have it already come in so early?

It’ll be colostrum, the best stuff! Your ‘proper’ milk will come in once you’re placenta has been removed, usually around 3 days later. My sister leaked from 24 weeks onwards. Good luck!

It hasn't come in, you're just leaking colostrum, which is normal and doesn't mean anything. Mature milk coming in is triggered by the coming away of the placenta and happens 2-5 days after that.

My boobs are HUGE and so leaky. Feels like even my milk came in with first baby!

Don't worry, it won't run out :) You could express a bit if you want to have on standby. But be careful as nipple stimulation can trigger labour!

It's more the pain that'll make me express if anything. If I had a baby already I'd be getting it to drink some or express. I'll give it a while and see I guess! Just weird as I'm only 36 weeks!

I have 3DC and my milk came in earlier and with more 'force' with each child. Expressing a small amount to relieve your boobs now will just stimulate production further so try and minimise that. If your LO is small they might struggle with very full boobs so you might need to hand express a bit to help then (my third was born at 36 weeks and he did, took over a month for his demand and my supply to start to to balance out - I was producing far too much).

Yes that's what I thought. I didn't want to make it worse! I only have a couple of days to wait now anyway
