Drs is closed and can’t obviously turn up anywhere as meant to be in isolation :( what do I do? Seriously worried as in quite discomfort and 15 weeks pregnant! X

Do you have an early pregnancy unit nearby? Call them. Possibly try ringing the local walk-in centre, but they may not see pregnant women, so check online beforehand or call them. Plenty of water in the interim though.

slipperywhensparticus · 21/03/2020 06:53

Can you ring 111? I know they are busy but 🤷‍♀️

bigchris · 21/03/2020 06:53

Ring 111 and they will tell you nearest out of hours place

bigchris · 21/03/2020 06:54

Also don't forget pharmacists are open

You could send your other half or family member yo ask the pharmacist what you can take

Hi, I've got a UTI at the minute as well. You're ok to wait a couple of days till Monday as some do clear up on their own....I know it's not ideal and a bit uncomfortable but doable.
Just drink as much water as you can and cranberry juice too and you can take paracetamol if needed.
There are some over the counter products you can get from the chemist for instant relief too.

On Monday, call your gp and get some antibiotics.

I wouldn't personally call 111 as there's nothing they can do and they will be so stretched at the minute any way but that's just me.

Mrsjayy · 21/03/2020 08:33

Chemist can test for Uti can you see. If a local one will do one? Is there a midwife contact you could phone

Skeeter2020 · 21/03/2020 08:40

Completely agree with previous poster -

Lots of water (and I really do mean lots - the more diluted your urine is the easier it'll feel to pass it)
Regular paracetamol
Try phoning your local pharmacy and if they suggest anything then is anyone able to collect for it you?

It may well pass in a day or two if you do the right things. Try to avoid putting pressure on the NHS this weekend if you can at all avoid it

Let us know how you get on

Lots and lots of water - most UTIs clear up on their own after a couple of days.

We shouldn’t really be using antibiotics straight away for things like this, it’s contributing to antibiotic resistance which could bring about the next pandemic!

YakkityYakYakYak · 21/03/2020 09:49

Sorry, that was a bit dramatic! Struggling to see perspective at the moment. Hope you’re feeling better soon, UTIs are no fun.

Claret555 · 21/03/2020 09:51

Ring maternity triage at the hospital you are based they will be able to give you antibiotics or put your in touch with your community midwife who should be still working today .
I suffer from uti and it's horrendous, I've never managed to have one clear up on its own !

Mrsjayy · 21/03/2020 09:54

Deep breaths yakkityyakyak meant kindly but you must try and not be over dramatic.Smile

Mrsjayy · 21/03/2020 09:57

Pregnancy Utis in my experience never cleared on their own I don't think we should be putting our other health worries to the side because of covid. That is dangerous phone your midwife as a pp suggested

Sunflower2019 · 21/03/2020 10:12

Thanks everyone, I’ve spoken to out of hours and they’ve written me a prescription. They said because I have reoccurring ones may need a longer dose. They said definitely never leave it, can go on to make things worse! Trust me I know I’ve had catheter for 2 weeks from ignoring one, they’re not fun! The joys :)
