With new the announcement that people who can't work because of the risk of Covid 19 will get 80% of their wages paid, I'm wondering if pregnant women are included in this?

I'm currently working retail and was advised to isolate but would only get SSP which isn't enough to live on. Very interested to know if I can now isolate/social distance and not worry so much? All very confusing!

Sadly no, the 80% is for businesses that can't afford to keep their employees and would otherwise be firing them, not to cover social distancing/ self isolation

I have no idea.. I work for the NHS and have been told that 'key messages coming out of national conversations' are only identifying higher risk to those in the third trimester due to more complications with ventilating. All pregnant women in first and second trimester in my trust are being told to return to work. I don't know if this is something that will be explored more nationally...?

Wish they would make it clearer. So scared to go into work atm.
