Will I be able to get a 12 week scan?

I've just found out that I'm pregnant. We wouldn't be trying now under the circumstances, but it's too late now!

Will I be able to get a 12 week scan? We had a high NT result at this scan with our DC1 and our consultant for her said it was important this was checked with subsequent pregnancies, along with a very detailed anomaly scan. There's no reason to believe it's genetic as such but he said it's important as a precaution.

I can't book that far ahead with a private studio I know of, and I'm worried it will close anyway. Many private hospitals will rightly be used to help with the pandemic, so I don't know where I could go for this and am very worried.

I’m in the same situation as you. Just found out I’m pregnant and worried about scans (and just about everything else at the moment). I’m confident though that scans will still be available. We can’t just be left to fend for ourselves for 9 months.

Scans will still be done at 12 and 20 weeks. A lot of hospitals are not allowing anybody else in the scan so you might have to be on your own.

I got my letter through with my 12 week scan date yesterday. I think it's classed as an essential appointment so won't be cancelled or refused

That's ok to be on my own, I understand things will be different but will be grateful if I can have the scan.

Realise this is all very presumptuous as it's still very early and might not be needed anyway, but I have my fingers crossed I'll need the scan 😊

Yes should still go ahead- it’s not something they can say rearrange in 6 months time!

@Pineappletree33 congratulations. What a time it is, I know. We never do anything by halves as a couple but didn't see this coming. In hindsight we could have predicted this but I don't even think our government saw it coming
