Hi

Just wondered if anyone had any experience with this

I had an early scan at 7 weeks and she said there was a 2.5cm cyst on my right ovary probably where I ovulated from. She said it was very normal and should go by my 12 week scan.

I've got my 12 week scan next week so keeping fingers crossed for everything with the baby and the cyst. However I've had a lot of right ovary pain last few days and wondering whether I should be worried and ring them early or just wait for the scan?

Has anyone else had this and what are your experiences?

Tia

Hi I’m the same, found out at 6 weeks I had a large cyst on the right ovary. As I’m high risk pregnancy, I’ve had two further scans since, and the cyst has not changed sized. Spoke to my consultant about it on Wednesday, she said;

The pain I get on the right hand side, will be the cyst and my Hormones, and is normal.

A cyst is common is early pregnancy due to hormone changes, most people don’t know they have them, as they go by the 12week scan.

That will check it on my next scan, and then will decide what to do. It will general fluctuate throughout the pregnancy. Due to the size of mine 7cm they may do key hole survey if it becomes a risk, or if it doesn’t reduce by the time I’m full term, will do a c-section.

If your worried, I would contact your midwife and let them know. But my consultant, midwife or sonographer didn’t seem to bothered at this stage.

Thank you so much thats put my mind at ease, I thought I was classed as high risk due to asthma but I've not had any requests to do anything further. I'll wait for the scan in that case and see what happens as I'd ideally like a vbac birth

@Indigogirl88 no worries. Just contact your midwife if it’s painful, they should give you the best advice.

I’ve had recurrent miscarriages, and have low fertility. Which is why they have put me in that risk factor. Be extra safe, with asthma in this current crisis. Hopefully your cyst will reduce with time x
