Good afternoon all
I am 16 weeks pregnant with MCDA twins, we were having scans every 2 weeks until early March and Babies seemed healthy with no problem at all, Sonographer checked the placenta (they share one placenta) and advised there is a possibility of TTTS. They insisted how important 16week appointment is and now they have cancelled all our appointments until 30 march. Im worried to death if something happens to the babies and by the time they detect it it gets too late.
Its my first pregnancy and I panic over everything, has anyone else carrying MCDA twins? What are the early signs I should look out for? Xx
All the best and stay safe

Hello mahsa, I hope I can help with this my story, found out at 5 weeks pregnant with twins sharing placenta told not to Google of course I did I had 12 week scan they didn't say anything to me next day I got letter from specialist hosp, they would do all scans I was having a scan from 16 weeks every 3 days, hospital over hour and 15 mins away on a good day, I was extremely poorly from the start of pregnancy, headaches, tiredness, sickness, tummy aches, I couldn't move most days, I had to make and sign everytime I went up hospital incase I changed my mind about the situation, I got to 18 weeks and surgeon said baby a heart was not doing well, and baby b was shrink wrapped 0.5cm fluid baby a had way to much, I have never felt so poorly, at 18 weeks I decided I would go for laser had laser do e at 19 weeks babies stabled off a bit, scan were then every week got to 21 weeks and told babies doing better I felt loads better in myself I could get up to go to toilet without hurting x I was really poorly in the beginning I remember phoning midwife at 13 weeks saying why do I feel so ill and she just said it's twins more hormones 😔🙄

@BBumblebee thank you for your msg, I hope you are doing well, how did the laser go and how are you doing now? X
Im in pain, my belly hurts when i sneeze or when i sit on the toilet and i never thought NHS would close their doors on us when i need them most. They kept telling us how high risk this pregnancy is and how important it is to go for all our scans etc. And now they dont give a damn at all. 😭😭😭

Im so sorry you had to go through all that, it must have been a very difficult time for you and i hope youre fine now xx

I'm ok i have my up and down days unfortunately my twins didn't make it if I lasted another the week so hospital would of helped doesn't matter that one came out breathing the hospital had lots of faults with my pregnancy from the start but they didn't care to start with I would like to say though my specialists in Bristol hospital were amazing and they were so helpful and great and they helped the boys as much as they could I even got letter off them afyer I lost the boys 😊 it's been 7 years just gone, I woudk say with the twin pregnancy I bled early on I was huge as one of them had more water I thin k during my laser surgery they drained 1.5 lt of fluid and he still had loads left, and the pain wasn't when I sneezed or sat on toilet it was all the time I cried all the time I knew something was wrong from about 6 weeks but I managed to get to see and cuddle my boys at just 23 weeks xxx if you ever need any support I'm happy to help xxx I know surgery is much more on top of it I would say rest rest rest with feet up xx there are lots of forums for ttts that have some advice on drinking and eating stuff but I couldn't even manage to eat or drink much at all I was soo poorly xx

The laser was a success and it was so cool to see the babies in real life inside the womb they said baby a heart wasn't dooj g to good but the other one he probably would of been smaller and anemic there was 150g diff at birth that's a hug diff when they are 23 weeks x if I had to have the choice again I would do everything the same apart from going to brsitol to deliver the boys, I miss them and we visit their grave every weekend, I would say in the currant situation I'm not sure why they have cancelled your scans etc because as far as I'm aware they are keeping all antinatel appointments as babies health are important I guess if yoj have had symptoms they don't want you in x but if you have any worries phone them up they have to help you xx

Thank you for sharing your story with me and im so sorry I you went through that, I can only imagine how difficult it must have been and im sure you did the best you could. Im sorry for asking and reminding you 😞

I was going to book a private ultrasound but they said they dont check the fluid around the babies. Pain is getting worse, its very low on my lower belly is very hard to touch and its got very hard to touch, I dont know if it could be the babies? I really hope they are fine. I can now feel the pain in my lower belly when i walk or lie down. 😭
