Did your low lying placenta move?

So I had my scan yesterday and I've been told my placenta is currently blocking part of my cervix but it could move for a normal delivery.

Did anybody else's?
This is my first and I didn't really want a section due to recovery :(

@Babyshine2020 I didn't have a low lying one but have had friends who had and as they advanced in their pregnancy it moved and they went on to have a natural birth. How far gone are you?

JumpingFrogs · 20/03/2020 13:04

Sadly, mine stayed stubbornly put! Managed a vaginal birth second time around though.
Good luck!

I had complete placenta previa when scanned at 20 weeks (posterior placenta) in January and by 26 weeks it had moved an estimated 2cm from the inner cervix. According to the nhs website there is a good chance a low lying placenta moves away as the uterus grows. Good luck and I wish you a smooth rest of pregnancy

Yes. It was on my 12 week scan, it moved well before the birth, though retained after the birth. Bastard. Grin

Mine moved. Good luck!!

Yes but only at 35 weeks.

Got signed off at 32!

Babyshine2020 · 20/03/2020 13:18

Ah thank you ladies.

@mumma2b2020 I'm only 20 weeks but with it being my first it just seems a lot to take in!

@JumpingFrogs that's what I'm worried about as what I've seen around the internet is that it can move, but also it can stay put & the stats they give are a little misleading, for example 1 in 200 but in the grand schemes of thing is that a lot or no? If you know what I mean.

@runnergirl12345 that's amazing! It's still early days for me and I'm back at 34 weeks so it seems they're leaving it until pretty late but the Midwife basically said to me the more it's blocked the more likely is it won't move so the fact yours shifted completely is amazing!

Mine didn’t move till 37 weeks. I’d pretty much resigned myself to a c-section but then at my last scan it moved

tinytemper66 · 20/03/2020 13:19

No. Had EMC st 34 weekd

Heartbeeps · 20/03/2020 14:16

Low lying placenta at 20 week scan. They didn’t check again until 36 weeks and it had completely moved out of the way.
