2cm dilated at sweep - will we see baby soon??

Just had my 41w app at hospital and had my sweep. I was 2cm dilated, she said she could easily feel babies head and had been able to do a good sweep, also said my cervix was soft and all the right signs were there that things were progressing.

I've been cramping every night for the last week, so guessing this was dilating my cervix. Has anyone else been in a similar position and there baby arrived shortly after the sweep? Keeping my fingers crossed!

If she doesn't arrive herself after that sweep, then we are back in on Sunday morning 8am to be induced but because I'm 2cm dilated I've been told I might not need all 3 stages of induction

Don't want to dishearten you but I was 3cm dilated when I had my sweep and baby still didn't budge of her own accord. We went in for induction a week later, they were able to strait away break my waters and 2.5 hours later she arrived. I think its one of thoes things where the sweep could work or do nothing. Either way you'll meet your baby soon good luck! Grin

I was 2cm with mine. Had it around 11am, contractions started 4am the next morning, hope it works for you! Xx
