Stretch and sweep with thrush!

Hi guys!

With my pregnancies, I've always suffered with thrush. I have never had it otherwise, so for me it's a pregnancy thing.

Now, I've had it with this pregnancy, and I got treatment, and it went. Then I got it again. Treated it. And it went. And my midwife booked me in for next Thursday for a stretch and sweep, but I think the thrush has come back. No Dr's appointments available due to the covid-19 situation, and pharmacy won't give it over the counter. My question is, will they still perform the stretch and sweep if I have thrush?

Thank you x

Yes, they can still do it. Although ask for a telephone consultation as your GP can prescribe you the peasant for it and you might be fine by next Thursday.

You can also find it at Sainsbury's to buy, if you go or someone can buy it for you.

Hi. How do you know if you have thrush? I am feeling a bit sensitive and irritated down there also lots of white cm. Does that sound like thrush? I posted yesterday but no reply. Sorry for hijacking your thread!

Thank you! I will see if I can get a telephone appointment with a Dr! They refused to sell me it and refused when my partner went for it - Not sure if that's because he was a man though lol. Though he did say it's for his girlfriend.

With me, the first time, I was itchy a little bit, but mostly I felt a little bit swollen and more sensitive "down there". The canesten cream is amazing. Works right away. The 2nd and third time I've had it in this pregnancy, I haven't been itchy. Just noticed the discharge and feeling more sensitive. I only feel itchy when something has touched the area (for example, when I wipe after going to the loo). Hope this helps. X

I had a mega sweep with thrush, done by a consultant as he wanted the baby out! I told him I had thrush and he said it was no problem and would just be a bit more uncomfortable. Good luck.
