Hi all, I know everyone is probably getting bored of seeing the same thing in here but everything is a little confusing and I don’t believe anyone to be getting straight answers. Fortunately at the minute I am on a weeks annual leave until Monday but I am u sure of what to do on the return to work. I work as a manager in McDonald’s so I have a very public facing job and touch a lot of money etc. I am unable to work from home. I have been in contact with midwifes and doctors since Monday and nobody really has any straight answers, I am 25 weeks. One of my managers got in touch with me yesterday regarding what I’m doing with the whole situation and I don’t know the best cause of action to take. If I wasn’t to go to work for a week would I get SSP?

Hi Blak, I’m in a similar position to yourself. 16 weeks pregnant, currently on annual leave until Monday. I work in retail, I’m restricted to working on the till due to being pregnant so lots of close contact with the public and unable to work from home.
I’m not sure if it’s the case with all companies, but the company I work for have suggested we speak to our line manager to discuss the best option for us. Being in the “at risk” category, but not currently suspected to have the virus the choices are; reduced hours, taking annual leave, or unpaid leave.
Where I work SSP is only being given to those in isolation with suspected Coronavirus or isolating due to living with someone suspected of having the virus.
