Bored at home and feeling a bit lonely so thought I'd say 'hi' to all the other ladies around the same stage of pregnancy as me 👋

We're halfway there! 😊
How is everyone feeling?

Have you had your 20 week anomaly scan yet? Have you started buying things for the baby? Have you booked ante natal classes?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@Nellie3 we did this at the weekend, ordered the travel system and nursery furniture from mamas and papas as they said about the returns period which gives us a bit of reassurance.

This isn't how I envisaged being pregnant but let's keep everything crossed that by August time things have died down.. I feel so sorry for mamas who are giving birth any day now, it must be so horrible for them knowing their family can't beat their newborns!

On another note, I'm a little worried that I'm still not feeling regular movement/kicks (I'm 21 weeks now!) is anyone else only having movement say one day and then nothing much the next? I have a posterior placenta so no reason to muffle the movement but at the scan last week baby was wriggling everywhere. First baby xx

squashie34 · 24/03/2020 07:13

Meet not beat* that was a very unfortunate typo! 🙈😂

Nellie3 · 24/03/2020 07:54

@Nfblues @squashie34 thanks for the info, I will have to look into online shopping for basics/big items too. That's good about the mamas pad papas return period though.

Yes squashie34, my movements feel exactly like you are saying, I'm 20+3. Scan tomorrow, I reallllly hope my hubby is allowed in with me! Xx

Hi everyone and congratulations to making it to the half way point!
I've been feeling pretty good and not had many symptoms this last couple of weeks but then randomly started throwing up yesterday morning! I thought I was done with the sickness! Oh well, hopefully just a one off.

19+6 and still not felt any movements....getting so impatient now! 20 week scan tomorrow which I'm told will still go ahead but have to go alone.

Bought a travel system and a snuzpod last week due to panicking about lock down and so pleased I did as that was 2 things I really wouldn't want to have bought without seeing them in a shop first of you know what I mean. Everything else I'm happy to order online. I feel like it lifted a bit of a weight off my shoulders so that's good.

How's everyone else doing today? Anyone still having to go to work? I'm fortunate I can work from home so only going outside for a little solitary walk each day.

Hey, had my 20 week scan today. My husband wasn't allowed into the hospital which was sad but understandable in the circumstances. Everything was great though.
Found out the baby's head and stomach were in the 30-40 percentile but the legs in the 88th. We are both small so not sure how that has happened 😂, wonder if it will change!

Also found out I have an anterior placenta, I've been feeling movement for at least 2 weeks but more to the sides and low down which she said makes sense. She said I might not feel some big kicks/husband be able to feel it for a while due to this though.

To celebrate I ordered a cot today. Is anyone else finding stuff is going out of stock a lot online? It's not surprising with factories in China having been closed, I know most prams are manufactured there. Makes me a bit nervous although fortunately still have plenty of time. Two cots we liked have gone out of stock, but found amazon also sold one of them so thought I would just order it!

Good luck for your scan OP!

Thank you all for sharing your stories. This is so helpful in those strange times where we feel/ are isolated.

I'm 21+4 now. The baby is happily kicking away throughout the day since a few weeks now. I had my scan a couple weeks ago.

We've bought the crib this week and I'm thinking of placing an order on amazon for the essentials due to the current uncertainty. We've been given baby clothes a while ago.

I am feeling very impatient too to meet her. It is such a great experience and despite I have lost my income, I feel grateful to have the time to enjoy my pregnancy fully, in a weird and maybe a bit stressful way.

Grainedesesame · 26/03/2020 07:45

Something that I wanted to add: have you decided on a name yet? Do you have a shortlist?

sel2223 · 26/03/2020 11:51

Had my 20 week scan this morning, just went alone and the antenatal clinic seemed eerily quiet....such strange times we are living in.

Anyway, all seemed ok from what we could tell but baby was spinning around like a whirling dervish (the sonographers words, not mine' so I have to go back in 3 weeks time to confirm a couple of the measurements.
Couldn't get any decent pics either, this was the best they could get!

Had a gender scan a few weeks back and had it confirmed today that we are having a little girl! We've got a first name picked out but no middle name yet and planning on keeping the name secret from friends and family.

@sel2223 congratulations! we also had a gender scan a few weeks back and are having a little girl, I’m glad we got to have it and found out before all this virus stuff kicked off.

My 20 week scan is tomorrow and I’ve just gotten a text stating partners are no longer allowed. A bit sad but very understandable given the circumstances. @squashie34 I’m also not really feeling any movements which is making me nervous something has gone wrong, I know it’s likely just pre-scan jitters but it’s a little worrying all the same. I haven’t said anything to DH because I don’t want to make him worried. Guess we’ll find out tomorrow!

So far we’ve only got the travel system and bedside crib. I’m buying some baby clothes from next and am looking on amazon for the other bits. What would you ladies say are the essentials? I don’t really know where to start.

@Grainedesesame we have decided to keep baby’s sex and name a secret from everyone and especially our families, we had to tell them I was pregnant quite early and it feels special to have something that only we know. First name chosen, we have a long surname and I’m not sure if we want to add to it by adding a middle name yet or not.

sel2223 · 26/03/2020 18:39

@Nfblues thank you and good luck with your scan tomorrow!

I haven't felt any movement yet either and found out today I have a high anterior placenta which makes it a lot harder to feel early movements. I'm dying to feel something but happy I had my mind put at rest about it.

NishaaS123 · 27/03/2020 11:01

I am 21 weeks aswell just been clothes shopping online lol need to start buying the proper stuff aswell with all this virus going on just hoping it will be better by the time we all give birth but atleast we are not alone :)

sel2223 · 27/03/2020 11:06

Fingers crossed things will be better by July/August time!

I think I'm gonna end up spending an absolute fortune online with being stuck indoors all day!

I keep ordering stuff too, all stuff that was on my list to buy so I guess it doesn't matter if it is now or in a few months, but still should stop spending!
