Bleeding-7 weeks

Can anyone reassure me? A few days ago I noticed some dark brown blood and went straight to the GP who referred me to the early pregnancy unit. They scanned me and said I was 6 weeks 4 days, unable to see a heartbeat and therefore I'd have to go back in a week to see if it had grown at all. Since then I've had intermittent blood when I wipe, mostly brown, sometimes red, never enough to go on a pad. No cramps or any pain yet. Has anyone else been through this and come out with a healthy baby? Or shall I prepare myself for the worst? TIA x

Hi there - didn't want to read and run. My experience was slightly different but I had dark brown spotting at 13 weeks, and what turned out to be a large subchorionic bleed. I was petrified and was told I'd probably lose him, but he's 18 months old now and I've just put him down for a nap. There aren't any guarantees but just wanted to say that sometimes bleeding can have good outcomes. Wishing you all the best moving forward, will be keeping everything crossed for you Thanks

Thanks so much for replying octoberfarm - I know nothing is guaranteed but it's so good to hear a positive story, especially as this wait is so agonising having to sit indoors and socially distance 😔 Thank you again xx

With my first pregnancy I had spotting from 6 - 8 weeks. It was terrifying but baby was fine.
I'm now pregnant again - only 5+5 - and spotting again. Even though I know this happened last time I'm still terrified. I have an early scan booked for Monday to put my mind at rest. Good luck.

ASR8 · 19/03/2020 18:35

Thanks so much for your reply. Do you mind if I ask you about the spotting (just say if tmi!) How much would you say was there? It's just when I wipe but it is every time I wipe. What was it like for you? Thanks again, and good luck for your scan. Mine is next Wed, 6 sleeps to go!

@ASR8

It was/is brown or pink usually just a small amount when I wipe - occasionally slightly heavier but rarely more than a drop on a pad. I had one episode of heavy bleeding in my first pregnancy but it only lasted a few minutes. I hoping I don't get that again as it was terrifying.

Good luck with your scan. Time seems to crawl during the 1st trimester 😩.

@Quail15

Thanks for this, made me feel a lot better. It has and coronavirus hasn't made anything any better 🙄 Ah well, what will be will be I suppose. Fingers crossed for yours, let me know how it goes! x

I’m currently 8 weeks pregnant and at 5 weeks I had a bit of spotting pink-bright red. Only seemed to be when wiping and little I. My pants. I went for blood tests and they came back positive. At 6 weeks I had a massive bleed absolutely soaked my knickers and in the toilet (bright red). It was terrifying. Again I had more blood tests as they weren’t keen to scan so early. The bleeding continued for a couple of days but then I started passing something that looked like tissue. The head midwife was worried so ordered me an emergency scan that day and we were lucky enough to see not one but two heart beats. The reassurance was amazing but says later the worrying starts again. I’m no longer bleeding but constantly feel wet down below- hoping that is normal. They couldn’t see a cause for the bleeding. Hope all is ok with you.

@Piglet11 - massive congratulations on twins! Thanks for sharing, these are all making me feel a lot better, the bleeding is still happening but it's only when I wipe and no more. I know it's a really nerve-wracking time, keeping all my fingers crossed for you that everything proceeds as it should xx

I had bleeding around 6 weeks with my 4th. It was bright red and was sure id lost tge baby. Anyhow i didnt and again had intemittent bleeding of bright red blood through my pregnancy. Hes now 9 years old x

BabyB19 · 23/03/2020 09:51

Hi there @ASR8 I had the same, spotted up until appx 8-9 weeks ish, pretty much constant, sometimes pink sometimes brown mostly just bloody discharge when I wiped and nothing showing on a pad, I'm now 18 weeks and have had 3 scans showing a very lively baby. It's almost impossible but try not to worry. The way I got past it was to think the more spotting I had the more the baby was burying itself into the womb. (People May disagree with this but it worked for me and kept me sane) good luck and take care x

@Solomon1212 @BabyB19

Thanks so much ladies. This wait is torture but only two more days to go. I've been through such a mixture of emotions in the past 5 days, my poor husband has been so patient but I feel like a mad woman. Roll on Wednesday and finding out either way. Thanks so much for sharing your stories, it gives me a bit of hope in a dark time xxx

@ASR8
Thank you for your support. I had my scan late yesterday afternoon and unfortunately it hasn't given us any information or reassurance really. It showed a gestational sac and a yock sac but only a very tiny fetus... Too small for me to be 6 weeks.
The Dr didn't seem to concerned and has booked me in for another scan in 10 days time. So either I'm a few days behind where I think I should be or it has stopped growing.
The not knowing is killing me. I was expecting the worst yesterday so I suppose I should feel reassured that there is a little hope but I'm just going crazy with all the waiting.
I hope your scan goes better than mine x

ASR8 · 24/03/2020 09:20

@Quail15

That was my exact position last Wednesday! I can't lie to you, the wait is hell. Do your best to keep busy (not the easiest in this state of lockdown I know)- I've been driving my husband crazy doing jobs around the house. It's also been an emotional rollercoaster so look after yourself as much as you can. I'm sorry it wasn't a more definite outcome but at least there is still hope for 10 days time!

Are you still bleedig? I am 😬 Scan is 10am tomorrow, will keep you posted.

Got everything crossed for 10 days time for you xxx

@ASR8 I have everything crossed for your scan today.

I'm not sure I'm going to make it to my scan next week. I'm still bleeding and it's getting heavier. No clots as yet and not filling a pad but definitely heavier ☹️

ASR8 · 25/03/2020 11:36

@Quail15

Bad news today for me I'm afraid 😔 Doesnt mean it will be for you though. Sending positive vibes, hope you're ok xx

So sorry to hear that @ASR8. Thinking of you Thanks

Quail15 · 25/03/2020 14:00

@ASR8 I'm so sorry. Look after yourself Flowers I'm pretty sure that I'm out as well☹️
wishing you all the best for the future X x

@Quail15 You too xx
