NCT Virtual Antenatal Classes

Anyone else had the email to say their class has been changed to virtual?
How do people feel about it?

I'm on the fence and wondering if there's a way to get a refund, as I was only really doing it as a first time mum to meet people... however they do say they will set a group chat up, etc. And you'll get one on one time with a mentor person.

Just wondering if anyone else is planning to still go ahead with it?

Also interested in hearing people’s answers to this. I too would prefer a refund.

We’re curious too! First reaction was it’s expensive for a Skype call! Money could be out to better use. I was wondering if they would offer a discount?

I think we are going to cancel and get a refund as we were doing it to meet people as well as first time parents! I feel like I could meet mums online for free... Also agree it's a lot of money for a skype! Our course starts in May and the lady I spoke to said they would issue a full refund. When are your courses?

We had our first virtual NCT class last night having met in person twice before. It wasn’t too bad at all, and the NCT teacher tried her best to make it still a fun informative session.

We only have two more classes, one being breast feeding. I was in two minds about asking for reimbursement however I have decided they are trying their best given the last minute changes sprung upon them so I think I won’t.

However, I have booked a postnatal course with them starting in July which if is likely to be virtual I will ask for a refund as the whole point is to go with your newborn babies and meet up with mums.

We had our first class tonight. I was sceptical and all for asking for a refund. It wasn't too bad the leader tried to make it as interactive as she could really. I still think a discount would be good as it's not going to be the full experience we've all signed up for.

Hi!

I'm in the same boat and am really gutted about the situation! My classes were due to start beginning of April and I emailed my course leader today and they said they could offer a 50% refund if I cancel.
@Hollielouise did they say on the phone to you that they would give you a full refund? The woman on the phone with me when I called before my email was saying Head Office hadn't given them any information which I was sceptical about! They seemed quite evasive!

Hollielouise · 20/03/2020 22:13

I emailed them and got this reply -
A full refund is available if you cancel more than four weeks before the start of the course, less a £30 cancellation fee
But my course doesn't start until May so I guess they can't really argue. @twinklytwinkle 50% sounds worth it but still frustrating it's not a full refund given the circumstances!

TwinklyTwinkle · 20/03/2020 22:22

@Hollielouise Ahh thankyou! Yeah I was ok with 50% as my course is quite close and starts in a fortnight, so thought 50% wasn't too bad! I think we might just end up sticking it out now and hoping for the best!
