Extra 28 week scan

Hi there,

This is my first post so hello!

I'm 12 weeks pregnant and had my nuchal transparency scan on Friday. It all seemed fine apart from the fact the doctor said I had slightly low levels of PAPP-A hormone and I'd have to have an extra scan at 28 weeks to check my baby's growth. He said not to worry as everything should be fine - but I am worried and wondered if this had happened to anyone else. Any advice appreciated! Thanks.

I'm sorry I don't have any advce, have you tried to google it?

I just thought I'd bump your thread for you, I'm sure somone will be along to help.

Welcome to Mn you'll get lots of advice here, look for your "due in" group in Ante-natal too, they'll be great support all the way through.

sorry its not happened to me - but if he's said you don't need to worry then he's probably on the money.

There are so many things you can worry about, unless they tell you there is definitely a problem, its worth conserving your energy and try to keep stress down to a minimum.

good luck. Its good that they're wanting to do another check, to keep an eye on progress. they do this for all sorts of reasons, its good...

and good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!

I have googled it and came up with lots of ultra scary sites about inter-uterine growth restriction so decided reading them wasn't going to help! From what i can see that only happens if you have very low levels of the hormone and mine are only a tiny bit low so I'm sure it'll be fine, I just wondered if anyone else had had the extra scan.

Anyway, thanks very much for the advice and I'll go and look for my Due In group
