NCT Virtual Classes (due to Coronavirus)

Hi everyone,

Me and my husband signed up to start NCT classes in April. Obviously with everything happening with Coronavirus, they've now been cancelled. We haven't been contacted to be told, but I saw it on their Facebook page that they are starting virtual sessions online instead. I called NCT to see if there was any chance of a refund or partial refund if we didn't feel virtual sessions were for us and they said they were still waiting to hear from Head Office (I got a feeling this wasn't true and they were trying to avoid refunds) she said they'd run 50 virtual classes already so far and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. We paid £200 for the classes including a breastfeeding session and I understand that everyone is in the same boat and this was unexpected, but I feel that's a lot to pay for what are now virtual classes. One of the main reasons I signed up was to try and meet other new local mums because I'm really worried about being isolated during maternity leave.

Has anyone had any experience of these virtual classes? We've also done the NHS Antenatal classes too which were helpful.

In all honesty, after completing the NCT classes via Zoom, I haven't really enjoyed them either. The course leader was really nice and everyone seems lovely and I hope we'll meet up in future, but it's definitely not worth the £200 price we paid. The content given in the free NHS classes is far more detailed and straightforward than with NCT and I would say if you're going purely for content, just stick with the NHS Antenatal classes.
The number of sessions we had just seemed to be never ending (despite being scheduled as 3) and whilst it's good because they probably just wanted us to feel we were getting our money's worth, the timekeeping wasn't great and it was more constant 'what do you think? Let's discuss' rather than just telling us straight up, which started to annoy me after a while as everything became a long discussion with a NCT link at the end for us to read ourselves.

@Sarahsmith12 I got my refund in full. No admin fee taken - which they are not permitted to take anyway

Did you pay by credit card?
