Early Pregnancy Bleeding

Hi all, I'm new to the chats but read so many before and it's helped.
Has anyone had similar and can advice..
I'm 5 weeks pregnant, I have PCOS, and my little boy was born prematurely 8 years ago.
We've been trying for a baby for a while and thought we finally did it.

I woke up this morning with the worst back ache ever and wiped with pinkish blood. The blood has gotten brighter red and the pain is coming and going. I have called the community midwife who won't do anything at 5 weeks and I've called the GP who is yet to get back as the surgery isn't taking appointments because of Covid-19 ..

My mum experienced periods for 5 months while pregnant with me.

Can anyone help or sure some light on similar experience, good or bad! The not knowing is killing me😫🙏🏻

Hi. I am sorry you are going through this. It is so scary. I had bleeding every week till 5ish months with my little boy who is now 18months old. I had double implantation bleeding (egg attached, detached then reattached elsewhere). That caused a haematoma which was why I bleed for months. Although it was stressful and dangerous for baby we got out the other side with a healthy baby. 🤞For you

I had one-off pink spotting three days ago. It didn't come back. I was being checked at 5 weeks 3 days and the sac and yolk looks fine but they did see blood collection in uterus and thick uterus lining. They ask me to re-scan in 3 weeks. I didn't have any more spotting. It is a wait game unfortunately

Unfortunately unless you have signs of an ectopic pregnancy it's pretty much a waiting game I'm afraid :( There is nothing they could do for an early loss at this stage anyway, so it would be purely risk management and that you can do at home. My clinic gave me magnesium when I presented with bleeding at 5 weeks once, that would be something you can do yourself (Boots/health food shop should stock it). Look up the signs of ectopic pregnancy to watch out for, and try to keep busy and distracted. If you do start bleeding, at this stage it would be like a heavy period. Any large clots, severe pain, bleeding twice as much as a period, smell of infection, or raised temperature for you (more than half a degree or so) - then you should call your nearest hospital with EPU and explain those symptoms.

Sorry I know that's not very nice, and normally I would say to go in, but in this situation it's worth waiting if you can.

Cramping can be normal for implantation/early stretching. Try a heat pack if you have one.
