Need to pee every 10 minutes

So I am 12 weeks pregnant, and up to now I have had almost no pregnancy symptoms - including normal urination (just a few times a day). This was true up until yesterday.

This morning, I've woken up early to go to the loo and straight after I've gone I can feel the urge creeping back. 10 minutes later I need to go again, although there's obviously not much there. I've literally been going every 10-15 minutes for the past few hours!

Is this a new 'normal' pregnancy symptom, or should I get checked out for a possible uti? Obviously I would prefer not to bother healthcare professionals in these times if it can be helped!

It is completely normal to wee a lot. But if it stings and feels uncomfortable then it could be a UTI. I am jealous that you have had no symptoms 🙈 currently 6 weeks pregnant and feel so dizzy and sick... And in isolation with my 8 month old!

You do need to wee more and there is a phase around 12 weeks where the uterus is growing but still in the pelvis so pressing on the bladder which makes it worse. Then it "pops" out of the pelvis, you get a bump and it relieves the pressure. Until later Grin

Maybe speak to a pharmacist though just in case it's a UTI

I'm a few weeks ahead of you but 2 weeks ago I had a day where I had so much pressure and was weeing every 10 mins, next day was back to normal so assuming baby was pushing on my bladder for a day. Obviously if it hurts/stings when you do wee may be an UTI.

It's normal to go a lot more in pregnancy but If it's an urgent feeling of needing to go but then very little coming out, it could be a UTI.
I had this for a couple of weeks before calling the GP and got a bit of a telling off for not contacting them sooner as it can lead to an infection of the womb if left untreated! I got pregnancy friendly anti biotics and noticed a massive difference after just 24 hours of taking them.

It could be a UTI, which are normal in pregnancy. I’m 10 weeks and I asked my midwife if going to the toilet 5 times a night is normal and she said that is a bit excessive and could be a UTI - my urine was clear but have to keep monitoring. Always worth just getting it checked so you can get antibiotics if you need them
