Hi all, I'm really worried and looking for some support/advice/handhold! I'm 6+1 after 18 months of trying. I've just been to the loo and noticed some brown spotting. What do I do? I'm a bag of nerves.

Hello! I believe as long as it's not painful cramping with it then probably it's okay. However it's worth calling your local Early pregnant unit - did you get given their phone number yet?

Littlebb2020 · 18/03/2020 19:21

I had pink spotting and low back ache and a few mild aches here and their in my stomach at 5&6 weeks and had 2 reassurance scans and everything was fine and got to see babys little heart beat. If you are worrying do ring your epu and see if they will scan you! I know how stressful it is But a lot of women have the same and everything is ok x

Hi!
I have had the exact same and it's nothing to worry about as long as not really heavy and no pain.
I was referred by my gp for an early scan and all is good. You should do the same to put your mind at ease 😊

Thank you all! No I have no pain at all. Would calling the EPAU in the morning be the right thing to do then?

@showmethegin I've had a bit of spotting the past couple of days (6+2) I don't think it's a high cause for concern as there's so many normal reasons for it. After a good google I think mine was due to strain on my cervix from being a bit constipated and then I feel really silly for worrying for nothing lol

fabmaz · 19/03/2020 08:48

Definitely call if it will put your mind at ease. Was also lovely for me to see the heartbeat 😊

Hi all, I'm pretty sure it's bad news. I got cramping overnight and now the blood is bright red and fresh. I've called the EPAU but they won't see me without a GP referral so we've phoned them and waiting for a call back which given the circumstances could be a while. Completely crushed. Thank you for your support x

I know it's hard but try not to worry too much. My gp called me back quicker than I thought he would to be honest. I was advised that if I had bad pain and heavy blood to go to a&e and they would see you a lot quicker so you also have that option if needed. I didn't have my scan until the next day after my referral. Fingers crossed for you x

showmethegin · 19/03/2020 11:59

The GP has told me that EPAU aren’t seeing anyone unless it’s an emergency, that felt like a slap in the face, how much more of an emergency can there be when I’ve lost the baby? He has confirmed that it appears I have miscarried. I have no words. X

Oh no! I'm so sorry - can you not go to a&e to be seen?

showmethegin · 19/03/2020 19:38

I don't know really. They made me feel totally stupid, as though they were questioning whether I was ever really pregnant. I'm so upset about it, they've made a devastating thing so much worse. I feel like I don't matter, like my baby didn't matter. I'm crushed. It took 18 months to get to this point and I can't believe this has happened. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

They haven't even bothered to signpost to any support. Don't know what to do

Aww dont feel stupid! I would definitely go a&e and see what they can do for you. Sending love x
