Angered at husbands boss!

Hi all

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice if they are in a similar situation
Now that pregnant women are classed as at risk and encouraged to stay at home for 12 weeks I am now doing so with an incredibly supportive job as I can fully work from home (I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant) . Me and my husband also live with parents who are almost 70 so classed at risk too.

My husband has full capacity to do his job from home however his boss has said no one is allowed to work from home even though government advice is to do so where people can. His boss has openly told him that he doesn't have an issue if my husband's team work from home but he thinks another team will take the piss hence why everyone now has to come into work. My husband had had to tell him about my pregnancy and that he now lives with everyone who is classed at risk and he doesn't want to put us at risk and wants to work from home

To which his boss replied with sending him articles where they are saying there are no severe effects on pregnancy. These articles are only based on a handful of people and there is not enough evidence hence why the government has now classed us at risk. His boss even said that if it was that much of an issue we should live separate to each other! His boss has flat out said no to working from home even though government guidance is that everyone should regardless of living with at risk people

Has anyone else experienced the same!? Really feel like punching his boss in the face!!

If your husband can do his job easily from home then I don't see what his employers problem is?! 🤷‍♀️ But don't punch him as you'll end up with a criminal record 😂 seriously though the guy is a jerk.

He needs to go and speak to HR.

@Troubledmummy3 honestly we've just been going round in circles with his boss. The complete irony is that his boss actually works from home!

@Weregoingonanadventure his work place doesn't have a HR team that's the issue

Does his boss have a boss? I know jumping the chain of command is frowned upon but in these circumstances...
