Should I go and buy baby things ?

Due to recent events I'm just wondering if I need to go buy the essentials?
Like a steriliser/formula/nappies- not a hoarders pile just one of each, just in case ? I'm not sure if I'm jumping the gun or not :/
I'm 25 weeks, baby is very likely to be here by 34 /36 weeks due to complications etc

Any advice appreciated!

Yes buy them definitely.

I think it's a good idea to buy in advance anyway. I did in both my pregnancies. Every time we did a food shop we added 1 pack of nappies and a pack of wipes to spread the cost out ready for maternity leave.

Don’t buy loads as there are many people who need them now. However, it wouldn’t hurt to pick up a pack of everything now and then every week or two until baby arrives. Good luck Op

I have been, 34 weeks here and have been getting the odd pack of this and that over the last few weeks with the normal shop.

Dp is now worried about formula as we don’t have any. I’m planning on BF but obviously good to have one in reserve that I’d pass on if unopened. I’ve said not to this week and to hold tight to allow those who need it NOW to get it and if he does panic and get some to only get 1 box because there seems to be a real shortage round here.

I’m stopping for now as I have a couple of packs of nappies ready which will see us through the first few days but will probably get another pack or 2 of wipes as dd has raided my stash!!

Let the panic buying settle down a bit first. It's good to be prepared but at the moment there are people struggling to get things for their baby who is already here

Yes definitely and get some bottles and at least some Milton's sterilisation tabs. Assume you can breastfeed but plan just in case you can't. Aptimil do some ready made cartons just in case. You can always donate them if you don't use them but you don't want a 3am panic in these circumstances. Also get some metanium whilst I'm at it. Brilliant stuff. Good luck 😊
