Baby shopping in this situation

Hi I'm 29+3 weeks with my first baby and we planned to go to a baby store in a different city this weekend to look at prams etc. as we haven't got anything yet.

Given the new advice that has come out about pregnant women and Coronavirus I don't know what to do. I am working from home however I was looking forward to seeing baby products in person especially for getting a feel for height and weight of prams.

I don't want to seem irresponsible by going, just wanted to see if anyone else is in the same situation and has any advice. Should I just be ordering online?

Thanks Smile

My advice would be go this weekend and don't postpone as they might soon go to more drastic measures and non essential shops might be closed down for some time.

I would order online

Thank you both for your advice, it’s so difficult to know what’s right for mine and baby’s health.

I’m struggling to choose a travel system anyway so will keep looking online for now and decide on the shop soon!

I'd go asap, perhaps limit it to one well stocked shop and take precautions. Otherwise be ready to wait for 4-8 weeks.

Even if you order online it's really important to get a feel for the buggy in person first, especially if it's your first baby as you won't really know what works for you till you try it out a bit.

Good luck and stay safe x

@sassenach84

Thank you for your response I think that’s how I feel, like I do need to try things out first!

I think it’s just the worry of being somewhere public but I think if we go early in the morning to just the one store we would hopefully be okay X
