Period type cramps 35 weeks is it normal

Am 35 weeks today and this afternoon I have been having dull ache like my period is about to come is this normal at 35 weeks or could this be a sign I could go into labour early ? My baby is measuring big can anyone help ??

Hi congrats! Right now is prob a scary time to be due but don't worry when it's time you will be taken care of fully!

My daughter is 3 and I'm 13 weeks with baby number 2. I used to get those cramps a few weeks leading up to labour, followed by usually some looser stools. It is sometimes a mix of baby moving down and your body prepping for Labour. It could still be a few weeks - I had a urine infection at 36 weeks which triggered me to be 1cm dilated and I stayed that way until week 39 where I was then induced with reduced fetal movement. Between week 36-39 I had cramps on and off.

If things become very intense quickly and you know in yourself something isn't feeling quite right phone your mat assessment unit to be safe.

@mumstheword2904 thank you for your reply yes giving birth now is not ideal but I feel confident that the hospital is just as safe as being at home to g9ve birth, this is actually my 2nd pregnancy too my little boy is 4 in 2 weeks but I honestly do t remember last time I went on my due date last time but just cant remember how labour started I feel like this is my first time again lol

This is me as well 35 weeks 3 days been having bad period cramps for a week or so now as well as looser stools no idea what's going on but have consultant appointment on Thursday where I'm going to ask about it and see if he will check for dilation if you want I will update after that
