Hi everyone. I'm really struggling right now because for 4 days I've been compulsively swallowing air and I can't seem to stop. I've noticed my saliva production also seems to have increased and this seems to be part of it. My mouth produces saliva, then feels like air is also trapped, I have to swallow the saliva and either swallow the air along with it or try to expel the air first by kind of popping it out of my mouth. I know it probably sounds really weird! My partner doesn't understand it at all. No one I know has ever had it. It coincided with drinking some sparkling water initially but I've not had any since. It also coincided with my nausea and morning sickness finally lifting at bang on 16 weeks. I'm so sad because I finally feel good and have energy but now I have this horrible air swallowing thing. Even when I burp the air up the next thing my body does is swallow more down. I'm so stressed it's going to last forever. Has anyone had this? Does anyone have any tips? I've tried calming teas, going for a run, rescue remedy, even meditation. Nothing seems to properly work. If I distract myself it is OK for a while but it's like a fixation now and it keeps coming back. It's just so so annoying and stressful.
