Hi so I have just had a phone call from my bosses who have just watched the newest announcements from Boris Johnson about how pregnant women are now being put in the higher risk category with regards to Corona virus. They want me to think about taking my years holiday allowance now and then my maternity starting at 31 weeks. Now I know the decision is mine but what would people suggestions be ? I do work in a customer facing role in a hairdressers on reception so cant limit interactions with people if I do stay. I have to give them a decision ideally by tomorrow night.

I think it sounds like a sensible plan given the circumstances. I'm considering doing the same.

I'm in the same boat. I'm 27 weeks pregnant and my boss called me earlier, after the announcement, and asked me to stay at home for the next week (fully paid) with a plan to reassess next week.

I'm thinking of using up my annual leave after that and then bringing my mat leave forward so that my absence doesn't put a strain on the business and I don't feel stressed about taking time off.

I'm self employed and a childminder, I have made the hard decision to close yesterday all my parents were fab I'm 27 weeks Friday and I've decided to just go mat leave from April which obviously isn't to far away I was originally planning on mat leave in May and then go back In September to work so atleast this way I get use most of mat leave I think us pregnant women have to be safe
