I'm 10 weeks and have horrendous sickness- it's all day so not going to call it mornings sickness! I'm trying to eat veg where I can but frankly most of the time I cant manage hot meals. I'm not eating takeaways or anything really but I am existing largely on bread and cheese. Today I've eaten porridge with raspberries, a piece or cheese mid morning, soup with crackers and cheese, a magnum this afternoon and I'm now having eggy bread with some bacon and sliced peppers.

I'm really worried about the lack of nutrition. I only like carbs and fat. I also cant face the gym at all, I just want to sleep.

My 1st pregnancy wasnt like this at all. Please tell me it will pass!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

During the first trimester with DS I could only keep down salt and vinegar crisps and polo mints. He's a healthy 7yo.

You will be fine. It will pass.

Well that makes me feel better!

It's so frustrating because eating is the only thing that stops me from feeling sick but I never know what I want! My 1st pregnancy was a breeze

Oh you’ll be fine. Both my pregnancies I’ve had HG. The first 20 weeks I lived off white bread, chips, jacket potato, crackers & crisps. Occasionally cheese. No fruit, no veg, very little protein..

My DD was born 8lbs & is a happy, healthy almost 3 year old. My second DD is due Wednesday, she’s tracking on 50th centile just like her sister. All scans indicate she’s growing healthily & OK.

Babies are absolutely tiny in the first trimester, they need a tiny amount of substance/vitamins. They’ll leach all the good stuff off you. Are you able to keep your multi-vitamins down? That’ll help..

And as for exercise, I did none in either pregnancy. Far too sick, just walking quickly makes me want to throw up! I got back into some around 2 months post birth & was back fit & healthy quickly. Smile s’only temporary!

I was also worried about this as had terrible sickness (it’s easing off now at 14w but still feel nauseous most of the evening.) I asked my GP and he said that in the first trimester a baby needs very few calories from you, literally like a banana. He also said that if I was every starting to feel light headed to get a sugary snack like a cake or something to ensure my blood sugar wasn’t dropping too low. Goodluck with your diet, it can be a struggle! X

Yep I can keep the multi vit down.

I'm just nervous because I kept my weight gain sensible during my first pregnancy - vain I know!
