Did anyone poop a lot before going in to labour?

Just that really. I’m 38+2 and up until last night I’ve been struggling to go. So far been three times today, all good sizes too!! Did this happen to anyone else?

Yep, all of mine arrived a day or so after the poop. I also get period poo soo figured it was the same sort of thing.

Yup with both of mine.

It’s annoying at the time but it meant I didn’t shit myself during the pushing stage of labour, so silver linings and all that.

Yes I had the same with all 3 of mine. I've heard you kind of have a 'clear out' to make more space in that area!

I did in the early stages of labour - was pleased as meant none came out when I was pushing!

This is encouraging! I really want to meet baby now! How long after to pooping did labour start for you?

Yes 100% like a clear out before birth!

Yes! Proper clear out at 3-4am. Baby born at lunchtime!

With me it was about a day later- max 48 hours.

BUT the only thing you can predict about labour is that it’ll be unpredictable! Just try and chill now, drink plenty of water and don’t obsess over it. Get those oxytocin levels up!

The most useful thing anyone ever told me when pregnant was that when you are in labour it will feel like you need to do a really big poo. Was so true and explains why the midwifes kept checking on me in the toilet on the antenatal ward after my waters had broken.
