Was asked not to go for my scan today because the antibiotics have not shifted my sore throat. my temperature is 36.9. Lungs still feel a little sore. is this pregnancy related feeling run-down or something else...sort of worried about the baby

36.9 is a normal temp.. a fever is above 37.5 or for corona they are saying 37.8 I think.

Why were you given antibiotics for a sore throat? Usually sore throats are viral unless it was tonsillitis? Or were the antibiotics given for something else? Sore throats can take a while to clear sometimes, particularly if you do a job that involves talking a lot or you are generally a chatterbox! Your immune system is lower in pregnancy too, I’ve found it harder to shift colds etc than usual!

Bit odd to cancel an important scan because you have a sore throat.. you don’t have a cough or a fever, so I don’t quite understand their reasoning!

Thank you, it was a suspected chest infection as my temp has been up and down. haha yep i am a chatterbox but have not been chatting that much as i've been working from home. one thing it might be is post-nasal drip as my allergies have been worse since getting pregnant...they cancelled scan because they wanted to space out patients and because i still had respiratory symptoms although she was happy enough that i didn't have Covid. wonder if i should stop the anti-biotics i have just two more to take. thanks for that!

You should always finish antibiotics- taking part of a course contributes to antibiotic resistance.
The baby is protected so don’t worry.

@Megan2018 thank you! just spoke to my mum and she said that too. i hope that taking them, even if it's not a chest infection, isn't going to harm the baby. thanks for saying baby is ok!
