Hey everyone! First of all congratulations to all you bfps =) hope you have a healthy, happy 9 months!

Heres my story....age 27
Been off the pill (after 10 years on) september 2018. Had various cycles between 35-48 days! But since september 2019 a year later ive mainly had 32 day cycles with the odd 38 day! And since sept 2019 ive had breast pain 1 week before af is due.
Dont know if this means my body took a year to get back to normal?
Is it normal to take this long to get pregnant?
Ive had bloods taken but they said unless i hear anything nothins is wrong...and i havent heard anything!
DH is suppose to have a semen anaylisis but its hard to fit in with work!
Sorry for all the questions just feeling down this month. Ive tried opks in the past and did get positive ones but i found they stressed me out too much.

There's no normal when it come to how long it takes to concieve, everyone individual is different, and every couple is different. The advice here is after 6 months of irregular periods you should consult a doctor, which it sounds like you did. What kind of blood tests did they do? The semen analysis is the easiest test to get done, I wouldn't bother with much else except ovulation tracking until you get him checked out. And also both of you taking a good pre natal vitamin, no smoking, healthy weight( hugely important for me personally)

@Sulkypatsy thankyou! The bloods were for all sorts! Not sure really there was a big list! Its hard with the semen sample as we gave to drive 30 mins to get to the nearest hospital for it! And only mon-fri which is when dh works! Ahh! Im sure im just over thinking it all!

Ultimately stress is not good for the process, although I know you just can't help it. Maybe try finding a private clinic for the semen sample, also really worth finding out what bloods were for. Often a gp will not order the proper tests, or interpret the results correctly. Also it would be good to find out if there's an underlying reason for your irregular cycles, there may not be, but getting the length down will give you more chances. I started at 26 after 9 years on contraception, long cycles like you, after a year and investigations we were told we would need help, two early losses, but we got there in after 17months, and didn't need fertility treatment in the end. I just lost a stone and got on thyroid meds. I really hope that things work out for you

@Sulkypatsy i really appriciate your help and thanks for sharing your story! I will tey and get an appointment with my gp and look at private clinics! Except at the moment with the coronavirus i dont think ill get an appointment! So ill keep positive this month, dtd as much as possible and try not to stress =)

@Sulkypatsy did you conceive whilst still on long cycles?

Yeah, sort of, I found I actually wasn't ovulating generally during the cycles that ended up being longer, I went for follicle tracking ultrasounds, and the cycles where the doctor didn't see good follicular development were the ones that ended up being 35-50 day cycles. I only actually ovulated 7(approx) times over the time we were ttc. I convieved three times, but didn't carry past 6 weeks until I got my thyroid problem sorted out( I only discovered that it was a problem when I was getting hormone testing done). My GP said thyroid was fine, consultant said for ttc the levels were not good and started treatment which I'm pretty sure is what worked for me
