Would you put your house on the market now?

We were due to put our house on the market this week and have photos taken on Tuesday. We've been waiting ages to sale, as we waited for Brexit to kind of go through, then we had storms and we had to get our fences fixed plus we had to do the house up a bit. Now we are ready and CV has hit.

We're not desperate to sale but our second child is due in June and we could really do with more space. We also thought it would be easier to sale now when we dont have the mess and tiredness of a new baby. We also lack storage and already have a 5 year old.

Also not sure how our jobs will be affected by CV yet. I'll be on mat leave in a few months but my DH works in engineering.

So do you think we should get photos done anyway and wait a few weeks/months to put it on the market? Or just bite the bullet and go for it?

We’re still going ahead with our plans to put our house on the market at the beginning of next month. Having photos taken on the 30th.

I think there are several schools of thought on this a.t.m.

You will be selling and buying into a market impacted by chaotic uncertainty in the economy.

If your current house is amazing or unusual it might be snapped up because no one else is brave enough to go to market. You might also find a real bargain because no one else is brave enough to buy.

However, don’t underestimate the chaos we are going to experience over the next few months. Do you really want to try to hold a house sale and purchase together through potential lockdowns and mass illness? Just the stress of trying to conveyance and organise the actual move in that scenario would put most people off !!

My parents have just accepted an offer from a buyer on their house and are about to put an offer on a new house that they like.
They felt that there would always be a reason to delay selling with Brexit and viruses plus the stock market crashing etc... So just went ahead when they were ready.
They haven't had any issues with getting people to view.

We’ve put an offer on a house a few weeks ago and have got accepted, now gathering our documentation and the valuation has been instructed. There will always be people ready to buy, but the question to consider is if you’d rather go through all the stress now or after baby is here?
