Dentist at 35/36 weeks pregnant?

I’m worried about my teeth as I haven’t been to the dentist in several years Blush

Would it be ok to book a check-up and hygienist’s appointment at 35/36 weeks pregnant? I’ll be going to a new clinic as I’ve moved quite far away from my previous dentist, so they might want to do an x-ray as well.

Does anybody know?

Dental nurse here. Totally fine to have check up and hygienist appointment, but xrays will likely be deferred until after the baby is here. It's ok to have treatment while pregnant too.

Great, thanks LadySlipper. I’d like to get it out the way before the baby arrives.

I went to the dentist at 36 weeks pregnant. It was great as they did a general check and also prescribed me some fancy mouthwash incase I ended up staying in hospital for ages and didn't have time to clean my teeth. Ended up having said baby 48 hours later (no medical reason, he was just ready to come) so didn't actually get the prescription until after the baby was born, but the mouthwash is/was really good!

Oh and definitely go back after you've had the baby for the x-rays and anything else you need done whilst it's free!
