possible exposure to testosterone 15 weeks pregnant

new here and hope someone can help
long story short, my husband has to take testosterone gel because his own supply was low. he puts it on very early in the morning and is always very good at washing his hands but i'm worried that he may have left traces on the door handle on the way to the bathroom. I am 15 weeks pregnant and normally get up a few hours after him. I don't have any signs of having too much testosterone, as in my voice is fine, no facial hair and my doctor didn't seem concerned either and said baby looks fine on the scan. I just wanted a bit more reassurance and maybe some anecdotal reassurance if anyone has ever been in this weird positionBlush if there were traces would it hurt my baby? are problems caused fixable?
thanks in advance

So are you concerned that you have touched some gel, or a long term exposure to the gel has caused issues?

Honestly if the scans fine and everything progressing as it should then I really dont think you have anything to be worried about

Correct: concerned with long term exposure and that the gel has caused problems for the baby that perhaps the doctor cannot see yet. She said that I would probably be exhibiting some symptoms of high testosterone if there were a problem, so that was reassuring. Just needed to talk / type it out as the worry is still there. Other than that worry everything is fine. My husband is on a low dose of testosterone and has been for a while, we got pregnant very easily in the end. Thank you for your comment Smile

Sorry to bump my own post, I wonder if anyone else had any experience of anything like this. I have a doctor's appointment Monday and it feels like years until that rolls around. Feeling very depressed.

I think you may be experiencing pregnancy anxiety as your fear is so disproportionate to the risk. Hopefully your GP can reassure you, but you don't seem at risk to me. Carrier creams for hormones have to be worked into the skin. A fleeting touch of a door handle, in the unlikely event of the gel being left on your husband's hands after washing, would not be a risk.

LongJohnGlitter · 13/03/2020 22:43

Thank you @Shouldbedoing that is reassuring. Not anxious just really feeling the responsibility. This is a much wanted baby, but since getting pregnant I've had this feeling of looking back at my old life, when something like that would not have worried me as I was showing no symptoms of having too much testosterone. This worry has coincided with coronavirus and I remember how easy things were a mere 6 months ago.
Thank you, at the moment reading your message is what I need so that I can get some sleep

Friend, you have plenty of testosterone inside your body. Trace amounts on door handles (!) are not going to harm your baby.

LuluJakey1 · 13/03/2020 22:54

Nothing to worry about - honestly. Nothing. Forget about it.

@anniefrangipani @LuluJakey1 thank you, I feel much better after reading these. I will forget about it now, not to worry. Much greater concerns around Flowers
