Did your body change even more after your second child?

This is probably the wrong topic, but I want to know if your body gets worse (i.e., tummies/stretch marks) etc get worse with each subsequent pregnancy?

I didn't have any stretch marks with ds, but does that mean I would be lucky next time?

And will my stomach become even more stetched than now? Or, because I've had a baby already, will it not make much difference second time round?

TIA

(am 19w with no. 2!)

I was fine after baby 1 - no stretchmarks or anything really

after baby 2 my back went kaput and I have loads and loads of saggy skin around my belly (no weight, just skin)

I dread to think what I would morph into if I had another one

PanicPants · 07/09/2007 20:55

mp - thats soooooooo not want I wanted to hear

First time round no stretch marks, lost so much weight ended up half a stone lighter than before I was pg (mainly due to little rascal bf constantly I think) Second time got a few stretch marks and six months on feel bigger than I did at the same stage last time but don't actually own a set of scales so am blissfully eating what I want to. Oh and second baby was 2lb heavier so that might have accounted for the stretch marks

Nothing to add, but I will watch with interest, as I am ttc dc2, and got off lightly with ds (no stretch marks, no saggy skin or saggy boobs). Wouldn;t stop me ttc, though!

beansprout · 07/09/2007 20:55

Maybe, on the basis that we couldn't get any worse, we might start improving?

morningpaper · 07/09/2007 20:57

yes my second baby was over 1 lb heavier - that can't help with the damage

PanicPants · 07/09/2007 20:58

I'm thinking of ttc too, it wouldn't put me off as such, but I kindof want to go into it with my eyes open iuswim!

My hair is getting grayer with each sproglet, that's for sure.
Little else has changed for me personally (honest). -- Presently incubating baby No. 4.

PanicPants · 07/09/2007 21:07

Thats good to know lljkk

My belly's on my knees and I have hair where I didn't know I had folicles

katendmom · 07/09/2007 21:11

Actually, I looked better after my DS2 and my weight was at all times the lowest (probably due to BF). Even my mom who's always been pretty critical would make great comments about my looks - don't sweat it! Go for it - you'll glow before you know it [green]

i got no extra streatch marks with dd2 though the ones i had did go pink again. my stomach did go back to its normal flat self but the skin was never quite the same, i dont mean noticably to anyone else but i knew it was a bit loser! im pregnant with dc3 now so god help me

lljkk · 08/09/2007 10:30

My feet are bigger, I forgot -- not after the first pregnancy but yes after the second. Maybe 1/2-1 full size?

I got stretch marks with first and thought that they would be in the same place again....no got all new ones, weight is comming off ok haven't even started exercising as LO is only 3.5 weeks.

PregnantGrrrl · 08/09/2007 11:55

i'm 34 weeks with my 2nd. From what i'm seeing so far- yes it does!

i can't wait to be thin again, but lord knows what my belly is going to look like!

missgriss · 08/09/2007 11:58

I hardly dare look in a mirror these days. I had masses of stretch marks with ds, but gained even more when pregnant with dd.

I lost all my weight and more within 3 weeks of having DS but 16 months on from DD I'm still on a strict diet and not as light as I was a fortnight after having ds

Still, I would do it all again.
