I know there are a few threads regarding Coronavirus and places to avoid (or not!) in pregnancy.
I just wondered if anyone was planning on doing anything differently once baby arrives, limiting visitors etc?

I’m having a section tomorrow & I’ve no plans to do anything differently unless the official advice changes. I’ll be having my parents & in-laws visit the hospital to keep me company & my friends once I’m back home. Obviously, I’ll be asking if they feel unwell to not visit but I’d be saying that anyway for any illness!

For the first couple weeks after my daughter was born, I was in too exhausted to go anywhere bar my parents anyway & I imagine it’ll be similar this time! I won’t be rushing to do things, much better to rest! But I have a toddler who will be going to nursery & taken out & about by relatives & Daddy. I can’t keep her indoors unnecessarily & unless she’s obviously poorly, I won’t be keeping her away from her baby sister 🤷🏼‍♀️

Children seem to be fairing best with coronavirus, they get very mild symptoms & recover. So I’m not particularly concerned at the moment re-baby or my daughter.

If the advice changes or I think we need to stay at home, then we will but otherwise I fully intend to enjoy welcoming my daughter to the world & celebrating with my loved ones!

I had midwife appointment yesterday and was told only my partner is allowed in once the baby is born, absolutely no other visitors and they can't swap. I'm due a csection on Wednesday.

Hmm.. maybe I should check with my hospital 🤔 I’ve got a pre-op today so I will ask! My in-laws are travelling from Hampshire for literally one night, so be a bit pointless if they can’t come visit!

Yeah def check just incase. Wouldn't be good if they travelled all that way and couldn't go in. Hope everything goes well for you xx

Thanks!

Rang maternity, My hospital is still open to visitors as normal as of today. Phew! If government advice moves to social distancing then it’ll probs change but unlikely to be in the next 60-72 hours!

I live in an area with zero cases so far.. potentially why it’s different!

Awww that's good news!! I'm glad for you. My mum and 14 year old daughter were absolutely devastated yesterday when we found out 😢 hopefully I won't be in too long.
