I don't think there is any particular risk for pregnant women, but I understand your concern. Can your dh ask to be tested?

PumpkinMun · 11/03/2020 21:40

bless you, I can imagine how scared you must feel. especially with your due date round the corner.
I seen a post yesterday saying they're isn't any extra risk to pregnant women and there is no evidence as of yet to say it can be past to baby.
I'm sure if your worried though your midwife would be happy to hear from you

I am going to give my midwife a call tomorrow and then speak to my consultant at my appointment on monday, I may look into having him tested I doubt they will tho thank you x

also as @AlexaShutUp suggests maybe see if DH can be tested given your pregnant just to be on the safe side

Please don't panic, you might find the advice from the Royal college of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists helpful. Sometimes official guidelines can be more reassuring

Sorry for the long link - not sure how to make it a clicky one!

Laurapb88 · 11/03/2020 21:51

Thank you very much for the link it's very useful, I'm wondering if maybe ringing 111 for advice and maybe get him tested x

They don’t even test people who are already ill at the moment, huge delays. So I’d not bother unless he gets symptoms and just do the self-isolation, good hygiene, stay a meter apart thing and see. Fingers crossed

StarryEyed88 · 11/03/2020 22:06

I am at a similar stage and a little worried about it. Not so much getting the virus, I understand it’s not a huge additional risk to pregnant women (or the baby). I am however a bit concerned about hospital facilities and staff not being as good as usual, or if my partner contracted it, would he be allowed to attend hospital with me? I guess not. Trying to be realistic about it, so guess we just need to see what happens next.

Also 34 weeks and worried about what above pp says.
I think if I was in your situ OP I would keep my distance from DH and try to be away as much as possible but without going overboard.... not sure if that’s terrible advice though.

Laurapb88 · 12/03/2020 08:52

I dont think they will test him but I am going to give my midwife a ring today to see what she says my dh thinks its fine because he hasn't touched him and hasn't been around him for 7 days fingers crossed all will be fine thanks guys x
