Hi :)

We had a gender scan today at 16w+1, and were told girl, but I've had no sickness and was convinced it would be a boy 😬 can anyone take a look at the potty shot and compare to their 16 week girl/boy scans please?

Symptoms don't indicate the babies sex, all old wives tales. I would trust the sonographer personally. It's very obvious when baby is a boy and your scan looks a lot my baby girls 20 week scan :)

LH1987 · 11/03/2020 20:01

Ive had no sickness and definitely am having a girl. Your scan looks like a girl to me (no expert though!). Congratulations :)

Haha, I've had 2 boys and absolutely awful morning sickness with both! Sickness is nothing to do with the sex of the baby.

reginafelangee · 11/03/2020 20:07

Sickness has nothing to do with gender.

pollysproggle · 11/03/2020 20:08

I'm expecting my third boy. All very different pregnancies, different bump shapes, different side effects, last boy stole my looks whilst I look great with this one. Chinese calendar wrong.
Symptoms definitely do not indicate the sex and on my ultrasounds there's always been a very clear and unmistakable little willy!

Historyofeverything1 · 11/03/2020 20:13

I've had boys and girls and had sickness for 9 months the effects of pregnancy are not due to gender.

mambanumber5 · 11/03/2020 20:25

I've been sick as a dog this time round. Was convinced it was a girl (as my previous boys were all a breeze but my previous girl I was very ill). I've had 2 scans and the harmony test. It's another boy. All this stuff is an old wives tale.

TiptopJ · 11/03/2020 20:30

Had sickness with my boy barely any with my girl. To be honest, at 16 weeks it's very obvious when it's a boy Wink

Fern08 · 11/03/2020 21:08

Yeah I know gender isn't determined by symptoms, it's just this pregnancy has been so different to when I was pregnant with my son, and I just had this 'feeling' I was having another boy. Glad to hear the scan looks like other girls' scans, this was a private scan so I'm hoping it's accurate :)

Symptoms mean nothing! I have 3 of the same sex, first two no sickness at all. Third i had full blown hyperemsis and was bed bound for 16 weeks in hospital on a drip or at home throwing up 40 times a day lol. Looks like a girl to me :) i have 3 girls.

Hi!
Wondering if you can tell gender at 12 week ultrasound? New mom here and forgot to ask the tech what she thought.

MrsW150917 · 30/01/2021 10:19

@Fern08 that's definitely a girl!
Here was my gender scan at 18 weeks and can clearly see a decent sized scrotum (which my husband was dead proud about 😂)

Don't worry about the symptoms every pregnancy is different. Congrats on ur baby girl 🎀
