Hi everyone
I had a sweep today at 10am and I have had quite a bit of bloody show since and now bloody spotting and a lot of pressure down below and in my bum and back also. I just feel slightly sore and a lot of pressure and no contractions.. she said the baby is very low and could feel his head and I am 2-3 cm dilated and 50 % effaced, but I am just so uncomfortable and want him out what is the likelihood of the sweep working ? I know everyone is different but this is my first baby and I'm really impatient

First baby - sweep at about 5pm - holding baby just after midnight! Lightening quick once contractions got going.

Good luck!

I was 1 cm when I had mine and like you started cramping and brown spotting straight after. I had mine on the Friday morning but didn't go into proper labour until the Saturday evening but the cramps started straight after so insure it speeded things up for me. Yours sounds promising though!! Xx

It might, it might not. I had one near due date followed by bloody show, pains, pressure and cramps and... ended up with another two sweeps and ds was over 2 weeks overdue 🙈 hopefully it works for you!

How’s it going OP?

I had a sweep at 4pm on the Tuesday and DD was born at 8.20am on the Thursday. Had a bit of pain throughout the night on Wednesday that got worse towards early hours of the morning. The maternity unit was empty and so midwife told me to come in anyway. That was very lucky because once the contractions did start proper, things moved extremely quickly. I arrived at 7.50am and two midwives set about making me tea and running me a hot bath, I’d just sat in the bath at about 8.10 and I suddenly REALLY needed to push. They just about got me out and on the bed before DD came flying out! Very different to my first, very long painful Labour with DD1 which was induced without sweep. Good luck!
