Tests not progressing....losing hope

Just wondering if anyone has any kind of positive outcomes from similar experiences.

I mc back on 1st January, had negative tests and blood tests done to confirm hcg was back to non pregnant.

Got my first af on 7th February. Got a positive opk on 20th February.
Then got a faint bfp on an internet cheapie test on 1st March where according to lmp I’d have been 3+2.
Then on 3rd March at 3+4 I did a clear blue digi and got a 1-2 weeks result.
Then on 8th March at 4+2 I did another clear blue digi and still got 1-2 weeks.
So finally today at what should be 4+4 I did yet another clear blue digi but still only got a 1-2 weeks. I also did a frer and got a line but not super dark or anything like I’d have hoped.
I’m now convinced it’s going to go the same way as the last pregnancy and end in mc. Although at least with that pregnancy I saw the progression and got a 2-3 and then a 3+.

Has anyone ever had a positive outcome from this? Being 4+4 now and having got a bfp over a week ago surely my hcg levels should be high enough now to get a 2-3? I mean a 1-2 result is 2-3 weeks pregnant. A 2-3 result is 4-5 weeks pregnant which is where I should be.
I’m so so gutted. I just feel like pregnancy at my age isn’t meant to be now. I’m 37 and should’ve known that falling pregnant twice relatively easily was too good to be true 😔

I’ve attached a pic of the digi and frer I did today, just so you can see how the line isn’t very dark.

The digital tests are 99% accurate with a pregnancy result but less so with the number of weeks.

Both of those images you have attached say you are pregnant. No one can predict what will happen but right now you are pregnant. Please try not to test too often or get hung up on the number of weeks on screen.

Wishing you all the best and congratulations Thanks

MrsRose2018 · 10/03/2020 17:52

Ignore the CB weeks indicator! Ignore the line progression! I had a MC last year and am pregnant again now and when I had a scan at my EPU cos my HCGs weren’t doubling again, I can’t remember how it came up, but my midwife said it’s a really bad indicator of a viable/developing pregnancy!

Also I am 21 weeks pregnant and My Due date/growth scan at 12 weeks has put my ovulation/conception date as the week where I was away with work in a different part of the country!! I was tracking my periods, taking my temp and doing ovulation sticks and there is just NO WAY those dates can be correct but 🤷‍♀️ Baby is fine.

If you’re concerned go to your EPU or get your bloods done privately! That’s the only way to know for sure!

Fingers crossed for you xxx

The clearblue tests are notorious for not being accurate on the weeks. Try not to worry. You are literally only 1 week on from previous test so it wouldn't necessarily have changed.

babyboy20 · 10/03/2020 18:03

Hey,

Please don't stress over the weeks indicator, mine didn't go to 2-3 until I was around 6 weeks and the next day went back to 1-2 weeks which really stressed me out. Currently 23 weeks pregnant, everything going well so far xxx

babyboy20 · 10/03/2020 18:07

I also knew my exact conception date as ivf xx

Moominmiss · 10/03/2020 18:08

Thank you, all of you for replying.
I know you’re all right, and I know that from googling the clear blues aren’t always a relatable indicator, but then you read the stories where they haven’t progressed and it has in fact then resulted in mc.
Before my mc I swear I was never such a worrier, but I can’t seem to relax and try to enjoy any of it anymore.

I so hope you’re all right and that it’s going to be ok.

My EPU only take referrals from the gp or mw and I’d feel a bit silly going to them when in reality there’s nothing they can do anyway. If I’m going to mc I know it’ll happen anyway. I just hate feeling in limbo not knowing what’s going on in there!

I’m just dying to get to a ‘safe’ stage. Although at this rate I feel I won’t relax until I have a baby in my arms 😅

@babyboy20 wow! Thank you. That really does give me some hope! 🤞🏻

I think I just feel like I’m doomed because of my age before I even begin!

@moominmiss it's so tough to not worry I really feel your pain. I tested 3 times a day up until our 7 week scan. It cost me an absolute fortune but it does get better as time progresses. I really hope this is it for you, try and stick to just frer if you need to be a serial POAS like me as they all vary so much xx

BlusteryShowers · 10/03/2020 18:23

They really can't tell you anything, so they only thing you're achieving is stressing yourself out tbh.

EPAU can't do anything
GP can't do anything
You can't do anything
What will be will be.

Unless you start bleeding, accept that you are pregnant now and try to carry on as normally as you can.

I say this as someone who has MCd twice before, so while it may sound a bit harsh, a no nonsense mindset was what helped me through those early weeks. I hope it works out

Moominmiss · 10/03/2020 18:27

@babyboy20 I am a proper poas addict. I darent tell my oh what I’ve spent on tests 😬🙈 I’ve taken loads but also a lot of the internet cheapie tests as I’ve got loads of them. But then I don’t find they reassure me as the lines can vary so much. I’ve had some super faint lines and some normal lines. I would just love to see a really nice dark line.
All my lines come up within say 30 seconds to a minute, but with the last pregnancy I remember getting lines that came up before the test had even finished and before the control line even came up. But this time I’ve not had that once.

I’m scared that I won’t see the lines getting darker on frers.

I have a pack of 2 digis left to use, so will leave it as long as I can before doing another of those.

I have like 5 frers left too so will use those maybe 1 every couple of days and see if I can see any kind of progression at all.

Thank you so much for trying to reassure me though xx

@BlusteryShowers thank you. I know that everything you’ve said is absolutely true. The pre mc me would have been telling anyone the exact same thing! X

Feelthefear01 · 10/03/2020 18:42

I was exactly the same. I had 2 early MC last year and when I found I was pregnant a third time I got obsessed with the darkness of the line, however looking back it didn't actually get noticeably darker until around every 4 to 5 days and that was using the same brand so please try not to worry. You are right about the anxiety though, I've worried all through this current pregnancy due to past experiences, but currently 17 weeks and all going well so far, so it can happen.

Moominmiss · 11/03/2020 16:32

Update. I called my gp this morning to try and arrange hcg blood tests. I’ve been waiting on a call back.

Got home, figured I’ve barely drank today and was desperate for the loo so thought I might as well do another clear blue digital.

Got a not pregnant result.

So that’s that. Either a shitty chemical and my cycles hadn’t regulated yet so af wasn’t quite due, but will show soon. Or I did miss af and it’s a very early miscarriage.

Either way I’m utterly devastated and haven’t stopped crying. I don’t understand why my body can’t do it. So now I’m back waiting for hcg to drop, for ages to arrive/pass whatever was there. And back over to the ttc boards.

Wish all the luck to everyone here. I hope to be back again in a few months. But perhaps won’t tempt fate again by letting myself get excited and joining the pregnancy boards so early.

Thank you to anyone that offered advice and support x

Big hugs to you. Please please please don't give up. I felt the same after my 2 chemicals, I felt so deflated and like it was my fault for getting excited. I gave up all hope, started looking at statistics and felt it would never happen for me, but it did, third time lucky. Now I'm told my baby seems to be strong and healthy so I like to think it was because there was something wrong with the other 2 and my body was doing what it is supposed to. Speak to you GP, I took baby asprin the third time of trying but please speak to someone about this first before taking. I know nothing anyone will say will help, but I did find it soothed me knowing that someone had been through the same thing as me, yet was successful eventually.

overandoverafail · 11/03/2020 18:49

Don't let the clear blue digital result worry so much. A simple frer is a much better and far more accurate result.

Until you start bleeding it's not definitely over.

Marshmello · 12/03/2020 06:23

Those digital ones often seem to give weird/wrong results for everything. The simple sticks are better.

The picture you showed of the simple pregnancy test looks just like mine always do when pregnant. I don't know if that's misleading and unfortunately you'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully all will be ok. Chuck those digital ones in the bin.

Marshmello · 12/03/2020 06:24

And yes don't give up. Any time it just ends with a period, that's also a fresh start and another chance xxx
