Hi,

I'm currently 11w pregnant and suffering from a sickness bug. Anyone who's experiences this... when should I be worried and contact my MW or GP? Is it harmful to the baby. Lost half a stone in 4 days and barely eaten a meal just been nibbling and sipping fluids.

TIA x

TBH many women have similar for at least the first 3 months of their pregnancy, if not longer. Try and keep up your fluids. Eat if you fancy it, but don't worry if you don't.

4 days does sound like a long time for a sickness bug - could it be food poisoning? I'd ring your MW just to see what she suggests.

On the whole, don’t worry. I have HG pregnancy & vomit 20+ times a day for weeks (although I do get it under some control with meds). I don’t eat much nor keep much fluid down. The main concern is dehydration as opposed to food.. if you are not weeing very much, have peeling skin/lips, are not drinking much fluids at all or keeping them down, you may need some help. I’ve had several hospital admissions for fluids. Contact your midwife/GP/111 if at all concerned but don’t go into a GP’s until 48 hours after you last threw up if you can help it, limit the spread of the germs!
