Measuring two weeks behind at 8 weeks

I'm around 8 weeks pregnant. I'm very sure of the dates because I've been monitoring my ovulation for a while, but also because my partner went abroad for work for 5 weeks after we conceived. Ovulated around the 28th of Jan, partner left on the 30th. Tested positive on the 9th of Feb. Went to the hospital for a checkup around week 5 because I was cramping a lot. Turned out I have fibroids and cysts to account for the pain.

Yesterday at my 8 week check, the nurse measured the embryo at 6 weeks. She said everything was developing normally, disregarding my questions about the dating. Embryo is at 5.3mm and heart beat at 160. Nurse said there had been good growth, but if the measurements are correct then the sac had only grown around 6mm in two weeks. What is going on here? Am I right to be super concerned? My partner thinks I'm crazy and should focus on the strong heart beat.

The fact you saw/heard a strong hb is a great sign!

I had an early scan when i thought i should be 7+5 but baby only measured 6+1. I went back for a follow up 2 weeks later and baby had grown proportionately to 8+2.

The dates confused me as, although I wasn't tracking ovulation, I'm in a LDR and there was only a short time frame where I could have conceived.

Anyway, by the time I had my dating scan, baby had caught up by a week so is now inbetween the 2 early 'dates'.

I'm 17+5 now, had a scan last week and baby is just fine.
