Hey everyone,

I'm currently 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I had an early scan at a 3 days ago which showed everything was fine and I saw the heartbeat, and also got my first day of morning sickness the day after which was pretty severe and I was throwing up every few minutes for half of the day, but for the past 2 days I've felt totally fine and I haven't felt sick at all. Has this happened to anyone else? I was feeling quite confident that everything was going well after the scan and after being sick, but now I'm starting to worry since I haven't had any sickness in a couple of days. I'm probably worrying over nothing but it would be good to know if anyone else has had the same :)

3 in 4 women suffer morning sickness. That means 1 in 4 don't.

I went through 4 pregnancies and was very rarely sick. I think I was sick once in my last pregnancy.

QueenOfThePumpkins · 10/03/2020 06:09

I had horrendous sickness from exactly 6-8 weeks, then absolutely nothing. It doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong Smile

I have 3 children. I never once experienced any sickness at all! The most I had was a bit of bloating.

I had three children and was never sick.

I’m 8+5 and like you OP I haven’t had any sickness, I’ve had extreme fatigue and a sore back and I’ve felt ‘not right’ a lot of times and a bit unwell but not what I would class as ‘morning sickness’ and it’s got me worried as well. I’ve also had a scan at 7+4 and seen the heartbeat so I’m trying to just count myself lucky and reassure myself that my pregnancy is going well so far.

This happened to me too! At about 9 weeks I felt totally smug that my morning sickness disappeared. As first I was worried what it mean and then as time went on and there was no bleeding/cramps or anything I felt that it just meant perhaps I was lucky that my morning sickness peaked and disappeared quickly. But then lucky me it returned with a vengeance the next week 😂

I think as your hormones are building up and doing their thing you’ll have peaks and troughs in your morning sickness. So for now just try to enjoy feeling well! 😃

Don’t count your chickens....

I said the sane thing about 5 days before I was admitted to hospital with hyperemisis.

I have 8 dc, never had any morning sickness

PhilipJennings · 10/03/2020 13:09

It's not a constant, it comes in waves.

I didn't have morning sickness but at 8 weeks I got a week-long headache (both times)! I used to find that I'd be spotty, have a headache and then feel slightly nauseous before mealtimes, and these three things together marked a hormone spike.

I felt "off" at times during my pregnancies and got faint sometimes (needed iron tablets in the end), but never had vomiting.

So enjoy it. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I was sick once throughout my whole pregnancy. DS is 4 now.

I had SPD instead, but that wasn’t until later...
