Do I get my gestational diabetes test results the same day ?

Just that really I've to get the test Thursday morning will I get the results that day ?
I couldn't take anything in today at appointment my mind was racing and I didn't ask

ypu Have bloods done after fasting, they’re sent to a lab for analysis, it’s usually a letter about a week later.

No it will take a few days for the blood samples to be analysed. You normally hear within a week (in my area you only hear if there is evidence of GD)

I had a phone call the next day

My hospital was next day. Phone call if you tested positive, no call if negative.

Ok thanks for replying just freaking out about stillbirth and other serious complications as I'm now ,36 weeks even though I've been asking to be tested since before Christmas as my bmi has went into the obese range since before Christmas .

I got my call a couple of days later as I tested positive. I'm really surprised they've not had you in earlier given you're now 36 weeks x

mine said they would call the next day if there was a problem

They usually only do it earlier if you have pre-existing risk factors such as a high BMI pre pregnancy or close relative with diabetes. BMI is not a good indicator whilst your pregnant as you don't know how much of the weight is the baby
