32 week growth scan size comparison

Hello

I've had a growth scan done today at 32 weeks exactly - using the new ultrasound machine and measurements our nhs has had put it in during the last 2 months

Baby is showing as currently measuring at 4lb 11oz

On the chart she is just above the 50th centile - with her end target wait at 9lb

How reliable is this ? Would love to know if anyone has had a scan that has been accurate

I am already booked to be induced early (due to previous history) but only by 2 days - I have to wait a week now to see my midwife to find out if I can bring it further forward

Anyone else's experiences would be appreciated

Mine was estimated 4lbs 11oz at 32 weeks too oddly. He was 8lbs 15oz at birth, at 41 weeks exactly. If I remember correctly that put him on the 69th centile on my growth chart. Not massive, just about right.

Unless your baby is measuring off the scale, or there are concerns about gestational diabetes, being large is rarely a concern.

@Bienentrinkwasser that's funny that you were estimated the same at 32 weeks !

How tall are you if you don't mind me asking and was that your first ?

I'm being induced two days before my due date due to previous babies size and I have precipitant labours

I’m about 5’5.

How big were your previous babies? Other than quick labours were there any complications?

I'm 5ft 7 so don't know if that plays a part, my last one was 10lb - I had a 40 min labour, didn't make it to hospital, he was born on the floor at home - I had literally no warning from my first contraction to him coming out 40 mins later so they can't risk that happening again !
